It is hard and shiny and does a good job protecting my phone. I love the pearlescent pink color. The problem I have with this phone case that I didn't seem to have with the other one is the charging. If I use a lightning connector, no problem but if I try to use a 30 pin to lightning adapter, then there is a problem. I have a clock radio that has the 30 pin charger so I was hoping to use an adapter that I could put my phone directly on the clock, but I had to get an adapter with a cord so now it lays on the nightstand while charging. Of course, I can take the bottom of the phone case off, but I'd rather not have to do that every time. The bottom of the phone case slides off much easier than my other one, almost too easy. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Beautiful color, excellent fit and finish.
