Pick your poison is fun to play with a group, but I also had fun just playing with my teenager (not keeping score, but talking and laughing). The goal is to get the most points and there is a structure to it, but the fun is really in just discussing why you each pick the specific poison. Since my extended family is not the best at chatting it up, I sometimes rely on games to make our get togethers more lively. Thankfully, this game (played with 9 people) kept everyone engraved and entertained. I'll post some card examples, but you try to make the poisons equally dreadful so that all the votes don't go heavily to one poison. Overall, it's an enjoyable game and we have gotten a lot of laughs out of it. Though not a Halloween specific game, I'm having a Halloween get together and we are going to play it. So just an added bonus there.

We wanted a game that would be fun and just create conversation for us with our teen kids and tween kids. This game was perfect. It is fun to play, and generates great family time. My 15 year old also took it to play with some of her friends as well. It is well designed and the options are good. It is not "intense" really no one cared too much about the score, because it was fun to talk about the options and joke about them... just a nice fun casual game. We have also just pulled out a stack of cards and played an informal "Would you rather..." just for fun. We not only totally recommend the Family Safe Version of this game, already plan to order copies for a few of our friends.

I think the directions for how to play this game are great, but the reason I bought it was for the ability to pull 2 cards, and ask "Would you rather ________ or _________ " while sitting around a campfire and everyone can answer and share why they choose the answer they did. No cards to pass around, you don't need to sit at a table to play, you can just pull cards, ask the question and laugh at the responses! My favorite one so far is "Would you rather go to jail for 10 years for a crime you didn't commit, or gain 250lbs you can never lose". The answers to that one were hilarious!! Maybe one day we'll play it based on the directions, but for now, it's a quick and easy fireside game!

Definitely a fun game to play with the kids, mine are 11 and over so its perfect for them. But the directions are quite difficult to understand so we actually just take turns reading the cards to each other. It's still really fun though, and you learn alot about yourself and your kids that you may not have known before. Definitely makes you think.

Pick your Poison is a FUN game for the whole family! I have always loved the discussions "Would you rather" questions generated, and now it's a game! We have played this game with the grandparents and kids and we all love it! The laughter it has generated is genuine - plus we have all learned more about each other. I also love the fact that there is still a strong game element, meaning that while getting to know each other is great, I still want some competition and a winner! This game provides that. I would rather play this game, which allows me to get to know my friends and family better, than other games where there is no conversation and connection. I can't wait to play this game with more friends and perhaps even my youth group. I love it!

I find that getting a game out really brings the family closer together and its great having a laugh with family. This game really gets people talking when you hear some of the choices that your friends and family would rather go for!

We really enjoyed that this game started conversations with our kids about their likes and dislikes. It was interesting to see what people prioritise when it really comes to it. Instructions were easy to follow and we could get playing in no time. Great family game.
