One of the best portable recorder
I really like this portable recorder from Sony. It’s small enough to clip to your pocket and records great quality audio. With built-in memory, it’s perfect as a backup or safety recorder.

Great Back Up
Sound quality is OKAY. I wouldnt use this for a primary but man it def helped me out when I was in a pinch! Someone wanted to speak unexpectedly and one of my lavs were pulled out for whatever reason. This came in and did the job! So go ahead and spend the $100, it def can save you. Better to have and not need.

The PERFECT recorder in tough recording environments
Used this in a seminar where we could not tap into the house system and the speakers were on the ceiling. We attached the mic to the house handheld mic and it worked like a charm and was very inobtrusive compared to other piggyback recorders we have used.

Bought for my own wedding!
I bought this recorder because for our wedding we cheaped out on a wedding videographer. Ended up hiring an acquaintance to film video for us and I was worried they might not end up getting good audio. I used this recorder to record our love letters and vows and I’m so glad I did! Since getting married I’ve decided to get into wedding videography myself and this voice recorder will be a workhorse until I get more audio equipment.

Best option for weddings!
I'm a wedding filmmaker and this Sony recorder is a MUST HAVE. This is my secod one, and I'm really happy with it. The first time, I bought a japanese version *LOL* I had to learn the basics to use it, but now I dont have any problem anymore.

Works well for what it is, does everything it claims well, but could want more.
This is really a very interesting device. Smaller than an original iPod Shuffle, it’s really pocketable and a viable EDC type device. I like being able to record ideas while my phone is doing other things, or without the distraction of a screen or the weight of the phone. I’ve just put this in my breast pocket like a lavalier mic and recorded conversations pretty casually like that and it works great for that too. The sound quality of the recordings is excellent, though still not quite enough to record a whole podcast. It does not isolate your voice at all, it’ll capture the entire soundscape. That just makes it a particular kind of tool; it does what it is designed to do well. The USB-C connection is straightforward and functional, it charges easily and transfers data easily to a computer or tablet. I’ve had poor luck getting the files to an iPhone, though, as you still need a series of adapters and the regular cable doesn’t do it. I wish that Sony had included some method to get the files to a phone, whether that was an app that enabled transfer over the regular cable, or even if it had bluetooth or wifi. I understand why this device doesn’t have wireless transfer, but for the price it may have been nice. It turns out that it can function as a USB media player in at least some cars, too. So, while you can’t transfer the files to your iPhone easily, you can listen to them on your car directly through the USB port. Another oddity is that the headphone jack is just a headphone jack. You can use the device like an iPod - 16gb of storage is plenty for that purpose - but the interface is pretty clunky if you wanted to navigate more than a small handful of songs. You can also use it to connect to a car or audio system like an aux port. But you can’t plug in an external upgraded microphone. I get why that might be pointless because if you’re adding more bulk to it, you miss the purpose of this device which is smallness. Once you are plugging in external accessories you kind of lose the reason to have chosen this device over a phone or a larger recorder. Sony does make several other recorders that are less compact and have other advantages, so if you want more flexibility and power just choose one of those instead; heck they’re cheaper too, sometimes half the price. I also wish Sony had included transcription software with it, but I get why that’s too much to ask. Right now the transcription software landscape is terrible. The only real options are Dragon and Otter, both of which are really pricy and cloud-based. But again, that’s not a competitive weakness; nobody includes that kind of software anymore. Overall though, I love this thing. I am using it to write a book and it just opens up creative settings that my phone would be distracting in. I do kind of wish it were water resistant as well. But this is a pretty niche device and so I’m already just grateful it exists at all.

A scuola: prodotto favoloso. Grazie!
