Our dog is medium size, about 42 pounds, but if he's strong enough to break it, I can't image larger dogs using this. It began to fray basically as soon as we started using it. Our dog takes 2 walks a day, about 20 minutes. He only pulls on it when he sees another dog walking by but otherwise he walks very well on the leash so it really should have lasted longer than this. The leash is durable and strong, others look like a string of yarn and cause rope burns if our dog rubs against us or anyone.
