Just grabbed our third one of these...
They are excellent for certain things. My wife carries hers around everywhere. I like to station them strategically in useful locations, and this is exceedingly easy because of the magnetic clip and tail attachment. I have other flashlights that are mostly metal and mostly take replaceable batteries, and I don't mind those, and if I'm taking packing something as gear, that's usually what I have. But for around the house, it's incredibly helpful to have lighting options that are: nearby, tiny, bright, versatile, USB-C rechargeable, can be stored or deployed on any surface of any steel object. For a while this was my only UV light. The only real downside I see, as with any internal battery device, is eventually it will probably die. Okay, but why is it better than the $2 auto parts store checkout upsell "LED amazingly bright..." yada yada that my dad brags about? Fair. But those: Aren't that bright. Can't do red. Can't do UV. Can't do area light. Can't do very dim (useful more often than you think). Probably aren't waterproof. The list goes on. Great lights!

Great little flashlight.
This is a small, light, and versatile flashlight. There are multiple brightness settings. Highest level is extreme bright. It appears to be a good quality. Multiple magnets allow you to attach the flashlight in multiple positions. Very satisfied with my purchase.so much so that I purchased a second one.

A little complicated, but a great EDC. I have carried it everyday.
Sturdy. Reliable. Use the low settings and the charge will last a long time. The various functions may take a lot of clicking the button to navigate through, but it’s doable. This thing has gone in my pocket everyday for many months. No complaints. A little pricey, but it’s high quality.

Best 5th pocket carry flashlight with UV!
The Rovyvon A8 is an incredible flashlight! You get so much from it! I bought the 4th gen version and its got UV mode which can charge glow in the dark items almost instantly, help you hunt scorpions and tomato plant hornworms, or check if large bills of cash are counterfeit. Oh and can spot uranium in antique glassware if you like to thrift shop. The 650 lumens are bright! I usually only need it in the softer modes, which it has a few of if you want to make the battery last or just want something comforting for the kids while camping or trying to read in a tent or closed quarters without being super lit up. Has flashing red beacon mode if you need to signal for help or be seen while biking. Comes with 2 different sized keychain rings, optional magnetic clip and magnetic end piece making it mountable to most metal surfaces for hands free or clip into your 5th pocket. Its the size of a AA battery and I love that its transculent clear because you can see the circuit board inside. Reminds me of 80s & 90s gaming consoles and computers sort of. Definitely priced fair and worth it!

The most important feature of this flashlight
There is little doubt that this Rovyvon flashlight is a remarkable piece of technology. The combination of design and function is impeccable. The features of the flashlight are a perfect combination for every day carry purposes and the quality of construction ensures that the flashlight will work flawlessly when needed. You can feel the quality in your hand and see the quality in the performance of the device. There is, however, a feature that is not readily apparent even upon close examination of the flashlight and this particular feature is the most important feature that distinguishes this flashlight from all the participants in a diverse and highly competitive marketplace. The feature is customer service. I have been buying Rovyvon flashlights for several years now and many friends and members of my family now use the flashlight after trusting my reccomendation or accepting my gift. I recently had my first problem with a flashlight; the model associated with this review. The problem was a small crack in the polycarbonate case near the UI button. I sent an email to the customer service department and explained that I was not aware of any time that I had placed the device in harms way, but acknowledged that I could not claim with certainty that I was not the cause of the crack on a heavily used tool that was with me constantly. I took several photos for the company representative to review. I took time with the lighting of the photos to provide quality information to the company. I was motivated by a consistent pattern that I had seen in the companies product development pattern. When customers commented on the need for a longer low light or moonlight feature, the company responded. When customers commented on the need to replace micro USB with a C connection, the company responded. In addition, the battery capacity increased, the charging port seal was improved and the clip became more robust and was magnetic. In short, the companies product was evolving in response to client comments and needs. If Rovyvon was willing to put that level of effort into product development, I was willing to take all the time needed to provide quality information to a responsive company. I quickly received a courteous and professional response. My information was reviewed and the customer service response was thoughtful and fair. I look forward to future products from Rovyvon and thank the company for setting such a high standard for their business practices. This is the way business should be conducted. I wish this company much success in their future endeavors.

Impressive Features in a Tiny Package, but Not Perfect
I’ve carried this RovyVon Aurora A8 on my keychain for a while now, and it’s surprisingly capable for such a small flashlight. The compact size makes it easy to carry every day without adding noticeable weight, and the USB-C charging is much more convenient than dealing with disposable batteries. The main LED is very bright for its size, and the multiple light options, including the red light and UV light, have been useful for various tasks. I also liked the magnetic base, which came in handy when working around the garage and needing hands-free lighting. The build quality feels solid, and the lock mode helps prevent accidental activation in a pocket or bag. Battery charging has been quick, and the flashlight generally performs as advertised. The reason I’m stopping at 4 stars is that the user interface has a learning curve. With multiple modes and button combinations, I occasionally found myself cycling through settings when I just wanted a quick light. The flashlight can also get noticeably warm when using the highest brightness levels for extended periods, which is understandable but worth mentioning. Overall, this is a well-designed EDC flashlight with a lot of functionality packed into a very small form factor. It performed well in daily use, but the controls may take some time to get used to.

Good Light
I have been waiting for an update to USB C for a while. I was really hoping this would make an excellent light even better but this light is a step backward in functionality for my uses even though there are some good additions. The USB C works well and is a good start but removing the momentary mode is a huge issue for me. I think most people like me tend to use these lights in short bursts and the momentary switch works perfectly for that function. Without it you now have to double click to constant on then press and hold to turn it off while juggling packages or whatever you’re holding. They said they replaced it for lockout. Why couldn’t they have used another lockout method, five clicks for example? On the positive side, it now has a magnet for the tail and clip. I like the magnet and it may come in handy but it seems to be a little weak. On the plus side, you can always remove it if it interferes with keys or other things in your pocket. Battery size doesn’t appear to have changed and it doesn’t seem to be brighter so no real upgrade from that perspective. However, the brightness is good as is. I would always want a bigger battery but it might require a larger form factor and that would be detrimental. Also, charging is definitely quicker and I like the green light to show a full charge. So improvement in that area. Rovyvon can easily fix the momentary issue with a software change and the magnet issue can also be made stronger. I hope they do have an incremental release to make these changes. Would I recommend this light? If momentary isn’t important to you and you don’t mind the double press, I do recommend it. The LEDs have a nice tint and they are bright. Runtimes are good for a light this size and the fit and finish is excellent. I only gave it four stars because the loss of momentary on is important to me. If Rovyvon changes that with an incremental release I’d gladly change this to five stars. EDIT: The new version has momentary on and is now five stars!

Great EDC Flashlight with Great Warranty
The flashlight has quite a few features for its size. I love having the UV light, although I mainly use it to entertain my kids. It came with a magnetic clip and a removable magnetic base, which have been very useful. I mainly use this as an EDC for random tasks throughout the day, and I don't have any gripes on battery life. This flashlight is so small and lightweight that it disappears into my pocket. That's how it ended up in the washing machine a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, the main light wouldn't turn on after that. I thought it was at least a little waterproof, but maybe a cycle in the washing machine was a little too much for it. I noticed in the product description that they said to reach out to them if I have any problems with the flashlight. So I gave it a shot even though I knew it was my fault. I told them everything that happened and asked if anything could be done under warranty. I received a replacement two days later, and they only asked that I send them pictures of the old light, including its serial number. Excellent service and a great flashlight!

A super trouper in a tiny torch
Pricey, but blows all other torches out of the water! Don’t know how long the rechargeable battery lasts, as only use infrequently. Only downside is that the clicks needed to use it are too complicated (or maybe I’m too old) … I just guess and it’s okay. Don’t shine the light in yours or another person’s eyes - they’ll suffer temporary blindness!
