AMTECH NC-559-V2-TF Solder Flux - 30cc Dispensing Kit Including Plunger and Tip

Yay! This is the real deal. Amtech NC-559-V2-TF is the best solder flux. Sometimes the best costs a bit more money than the rest but it's so much worth it. My repair project has been delayed twice due to buying an inferior flux that was terrible and a counterfeit purchase of Amtech on eBay. The eBay Scamtech Flux was a bubbly watery mess made in China and as far as I know you can only get Amtech in the USA. If your soldering project is important to you and you want and need it done right buy this stuff! Nothing beats the consistency, performance and amazing perfect shiny solder balls you'll get when using the Rolls Royce of solder fluxes. I purchased the kit and thought the needle was missing but found it taped to the side of the plunger. The complete kit is definitely a good buy and a must have for micro soldering. The fine precision needle is perfect for microscope soldering purposes. You don't want a huge fat needle spilling flux all over the place.

This is awesome flux, the best I've ever used. It's very slow to boil away, the residue is mild and easily cleaned off. Even the smoke is less and not as noxious as almost every other flux I've used. The syringe applicator works perfectly, but the default tube doesn't come with a plunger, so if you don't have a 30cc plunger, get the part marked "kit" to get the plunger with it. The syringe comes with a short needle, but it's a standard Luer lock, so any dispensing needle will work. I put a slightly finer needle on it for more precision, and had no issues. It's very manageable to apply, it doesn't string and isn't intensely sticky. It flows under heat, but stays mostly put, making cleanup easier. I did some informal tests, and it deals with surface oxidation like the lower end of the high activity fluxes, but the residue doesn't seem to cause corrosion, acting more like a low-activity flux.

I bought this flux as recommended by Louis Rossman, look up his name if you wanna know more. This is the real deal, not a syringe full of Vaseline pretending to be flux. I've been doing a lot of microsoldering as of late, and flux was my biggest issue. This stuff is amazing, it pools nicely when heated and it doesn't burn off quickly either. This gives me plenty of time to rework anywhere from small to large areas and cleanup is extremely easy. Is not very tacky, but enough to hold parts for air reflow. Very well balanced overall and amazing quality. Totally recommended!!

This stuff is worth every penny. Don't be a cheap skate and make do with what you've got. This flux will make your life so much easier.

Like many others I have bought both real and fake Amtech 559 on the internet. The fake stuff will look nothing like the color in the photo and will usually be half the price. Real Amtech 559, which is what I received, has a pale Amber hue just the like the pictured tube.

Works great,if you can get it out of the tube. Putting the plunger into the tube was a challenge, as getting the extra air out was almost impossible, leaving the air in meant you had to work harder compressing the plunger against the air trapped in the tube. Paste is very stiff, and the small "needle" they supply with the paste is too small to dispense it. Even with the needle off it is still tough to use the plunger, as the stiffness of the product does not lend well to this type of dispenser. I wound up using a specialized tool to make it work. Extremely sticky on any surface and will not wipe off easily if cold, does not work much better than other products I have used.

This stuff is beyond words. I have used a fair few different kinds over the years. This is the only flux I will be using for a long while to come. This is the real deal. Not some knockoff from ... wherever. It stays liquid and clear for a loooong time once the soldering tip or air gun 'melts' it. Practically speaking you don't have to clean it like the name says (it does not turn into the usual hard brown resin or corrosive mess like some flux do) but if you want to remove it, all you need is some swabs and some isopropanol. This stuff is worth it's weight in gold (luckily only figuratively speaking). It's economical too. You might think 30cc is not a lot but it goes a very long way. Now finally available in Europe. In the words of the great Louis Rossmann : Don't delay, buy today.
