I was a little bit wary of buying this coffee at first solely because of the expensive price tag attached to it. The only reason being that I am an avid coffee drinker and I was afraid I would fall in love too hard with this brand and not have the mulah to thoroughly supply myself with it. Well, assumption was correct. This coffee has a flavor that's dark and earthy. It's a very bold brew so your cup will be swimming with flavor. As for the money part, I found that it isn't quite an issue because a little goes a long, long way with this roast. Only a handful of beans will do otherwise your coffee will be over the borderline of "dark roast". Which is a good thing! You aren't completely wasting all of your coffee beans on one pot just to try and achieve the perfect brew/flavor! I will say it took me a few attempts to figure out the perfect amount but once you get it down to science you will be absolutely hooked on this coffee. It's also compostable. It's actually the first 100 percent certified compostable coffee! So you won't feel bad about tossing it out and can add to the carbon footprint a little bit less. Anything helps, right? If you are a caffeine obsessed lunatic like I am then I recommend you buy this at least once. Just give it a try! I promise you won't be disappointed! - @yetiyoungblood

Great coffee, great value, proceeds go to help people who grow and pick it
Update: my husband was moaning about the fact that he was truly out of his good coffee when Amazon delivered a fresh bag of Atomic Garden. He was so delighted! Iโll need to order more for his birthday!!!!!! I have to admit, I bought this because of Green Day, but my husband absolutely loves it! He also likes (as do I) that the proceeds go back to help the people of the villages where the coffee is grown and picked. I also got him a bag of the decaf, which he also loves

LOVE this coffee
I was a little hesitant to buy this because I'm kind of picky about my coffee and usual only like light roast. I love this coffee! It's seriously the best I've had. I don't think I will ever buy another coffee again. I normally put a lot of cream and sugar in my coffee and find that this is so good I hardly need to add anything to it. everyone should give this coffee a try! It's very smooth, no burnt after taste like some have.

Old burnt beans
I wanted to like it, I really did, but when I opened the bag the smell resembled that of charcoal briquettes. The beans were black, crumbly, and dry. These weren't just stale, they were artifacts ready for a coffee museum. The "best by" date was covered up conveniently by an additional cant-get-it-off label so I have no idea how old they were, but I fed them to the compost bin after making a test cup. Very disappointing.

Wonderful for a Medium roast
Unfortunately, this is not a strong enough coffee for my taste. The beans are glossy which is perfect for a Medium roast... just right so as not to give off a bitter taste. The coffee has a lovely aroma and very low acidity. States Medium/Dark roast. Definitely a Medium roast IMO. Had it been a stronger, bolder coffee, it would well deserve 5 stars from me.

... I was intrigued to learn that one of my favorite bands from my childhood
I bought this mainly because I was intrigued to learn that one of my favorite bands from my childhood, and still today, had gotten involved in the coffee business. After using these beans to make pour over coffee in my Chemex, I was 100% impressed. This is hands down one of the best organic dark roast beans out there. In comparison, I really love Trader Joe's Guatemalan Whole Bean Dark Roast and Kicking Horse 454. Really, really nice and smooth coffee - I had lower expectations, but I truly love it and recommend it.

Very Good Coffee!
I love the flavor of this coffee. I bought this for use in my espresso machine and it's great. It's a little pricey which is the only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars.

Delicious
I've wanted to try this coffee for years (being a Green Day fan & knowing about Mike Dirnt's and Billie Joe's adventure with coffee)~ and I'm really happy I did! I mean it's a bonus that the whole bag is compostable too. The coffee itself has an enticing aroma and delicious rich flavor. You can't beat getting whole bean and grinding it yourself, it really adds an impact on your cup :)
