The fact is, there are really no other bow scale models on the market that are designed specifically for checking the draw weight of a bow and are as easy to use. Especially if you are a release style shooter. I mean you hold it like your release, hook it to your d-loop like you would your release and draw your bow. Of course knock an arrow first to prevent a dry fire if something does go wrong.This scale is solidly made and I have no feeling it will break in my hand like I have read some cheaper models did.Before purchasing this unit I tried a very accurate hanging scale which worked, but it did not provide the peak draw readout like this one. So you kind of needed to guess at when you were at the maximum readout while holding down the bow and trying to read the scale at the same time which is moving up and down in the weight. Very awkward process. And you get no "peak" weight so I was not real sure but it looked like about 52/55 pounds or so as the numbers flashed on the LCD display.With this one you just pull back, let down, and check the readout. You get the max weight and the holding weight which I verified by calculating based on the let-off of my cam and it was almost spot on. I repeated the process multiple times and got pretty much the exact same numbers +/- a few ounces. Yes ounces.It may seem like a lot of money for something that you might use rarely, which is why I was hesitant and tried other options, but at the end of the day, it's the right tool for the job. Period. If you are a serious archer and like me want to get the best out of your bow, this is a must have device.I can recommend this scale without hesitation. One button. Metering appears to be pretty accurate, and the separate peak and hold weight metering is really great.The only downsize is the basic arrangement of the handle. You will be holding the scale to draw your bow, and you will NOT be using a tab or release. This means that you'll have to approximate where your anchor is, because nothing you do will put the nock point exactly where it'd be with a tab or release anchor.This isn't an insurmountable problem, however. If you're a person that needs to know the accurate draw weight characteristics of your bow, you also have a draw length indicator (an inch-marked measuring arrow). Use that to figure out exactly what length you're going to measure for, then leave the draw length indicator nocked and use this scale's handle to pull back to the appropriate distance. Cool little tool for getting a very specific draw weight for in between 5 lb increments. Managed to get my bow to 58 lbs on the nose. Made sure it was consistent by checking each draw 4-5 different times, and they've been within .1-.2 lbs of each other. Of course it doesn't tell you the difference in tension from one limb to the other, but when in doubt, zero it out! Only thing I'd say is a nuisance is the battery, they're only available at certain stores in my area, so once it dies, I have to hunt a package down. Wonder if two AAA's could've been fitted into this thing?
