Small, verstatile contact relay
I had the ubiquitous Linear FS20Z-1 Z-Wave contact fixture module installed in my front wall for many years to automate the lights on top of the wall. After about ten years the module went kaput and seems to no longer be available. The Zooz 700 Series Z-Wave Plus Smart Relay does everything the FS20Z-1 did in a much smaller package, making it far easier to embed in the outlet box without working too hard to fit in all the wires. While this module is not rated for outdoor use the box is weather-insulated, and I further wrapped the Smart Relay in a sandwich bag sealed with duct tape, so I'm quite confident no moisture will enter. Temperatures are mild enough here in Silicon Valley that it should also almost always be within the operating range (32F - 104F). It paired easily with my SmartThings hub (V2) and works as expected. Note that I'm not using the switch contact, I'm only controlling it via Z-Wave, so I can't comment on that feature, but I have no reason to think it wouldn't work as expected.

Better than advertised
The "Zooz 700 Series Z-Wave Plus Smart Relay ZEN51" works great in non-dimming lighting applications. Like they said, you can install it at the light fixture, which is exactly what I did, there was no neutral at the switch location. It is quite tiny but nevertheless you'll want to use Wago connectors--BTW cheaper in bulk right here on Amazon. What made it "better than advertised" is that the switch controlling the light fixture still works properly. Automation will turn the light on or off regardless of the original wall switch, but the switch can still change the fixture on or off. If the switch is off and the light was turned on by automation, flipping the switch on doesn't change the light; it's not illogical. Of course you can setup annoying automation to change the light to a predetermined state whenever the switch is flipped, I suppose that's good for April Fools or whatever. For us, it's a very easy one-time override for the automation schedule. Our Z-Wave hub setup is Home Assistant running on a Raspberry Pi 4 with an Aeotec Z-Stick 7 Plus. This open source hub but not complicated, I imagine the relay works easily with other Z-Wave hubs. Adding the ZEN51 required only a Z-Wave JS inclusion, it was instantly detected. My big problem now is that I need to resist buying a bunch of these causing automation overload!

Super nice little thang
This little Z-Wave relay is a very well thought out and useful device. What makes this one nicer than the typical Z-Wave switch is the Sense input line. It makes this switch work with rather instead of almost any light switch application you may have. Was easy to install and get working.

Failed after less than 2 months
I used this device to control an outlet with a pump plugged in that fed my in-floor boiler at my home. I'm currently on the other side of the world, so I needed this to be reliable. However, it seemed to have failed in the closed position which causes the boiler pump to run full-time and had the heat unable to turn off. Anytime I tried to trigger it off, it went "Unknown" status, then came back online in the "On" state (the rest of my Z-Wave network is fine). I had to ask someone to help and walk them through removing it from my wiring. It's a great device in concept, but can't recommend trusting it for critical applications.

Works Great
I am a technical tinker, and wanted to be able to have my interior garage lights turn on when the garage doors are opened while itโs dark outside. I used rules on my Smartthings hub to trigger the lights when it sees my garage door sensors open. You MUST have a good understanding of electrical wiring and 3-way switching to assure this is installed correctly. Important things to know: 1.) the 3-way switches will continue to work regardless of which state this relay is in, which is great! I also have a Zoos relay on my garage doors that monitors door status switches on each door, and momentarily activates the relays independently to open/close each door via commands with an echo Dot I keep in the garage (located far away from windows and doors to prevent a thief from opening the doors from outside the garage). 2.) I needed to take this down near my hub to initially add it to the zwave network. 3.) itโs very small and fit inside of the switch box. 4.) the average person without technical knowledge would probably not be able to install this.

Pretty amazing range, very easy installation
I had an old zwave contact sensor (different manufacturer) stop working, so I purchased this zooz as a replacement. I was concerned about the range on the unit as most contact sensors have external antennas, and this is quite a small unit (about the size of a matchbox but square) - happy to report that the range is excellent. I installed inside an all metal junction box (with a metal blank cover) with no line of site to the zwave hub/stick in an outdoor shed and pairing + device control was fast and flawless. Paired with Home Assistant + zwaveJS on a HUSBZB1 USB stick. Thanks zooz for another excellent product!

Worth the money.
I use this relay in Hubitat along with an advanced driver available to operate my overhead garage door opener. This relay seems to work really well. I replaced a cheaper relay that failed. Bought another cheap relay that came shorted out of the box. Just bit the bullet and got this one. It seems very robust so far. It was easy to pair. When it says push 3 times quickly, boy it means quickly to put in pairing mode.

Works great with Home Assistant
The Zooz 700 Series Z-Wave Plus Smart Relay ZEN51 is a great choice for smartening up your bar lights. It is a small and discreet device that can be installed behind your existing wall switch or at the light fixture itself. Once installed, you can use the ZEN51 to control your bar lights remotely using a Z-Wave With my Hubitat hub.

Relay for 3d printers
I purchased two of these to install directly in my 3d printers so that I could control power on/off through Home Assitant. Worked perfectly, setup with HA was straightforward and worked with the quick start code.

Great relay, great brand!
Used this to automate the light of my range hood. We kept forgetting to turn it off, so now it does it on its own! All of my zwave devices come from ZOOZ and I couldn't be any happier.

Crazy hard to include with Hubitat, once that was done, it works very well.
Adding this device to my Z-Wave network was crazy hard. Hubitat Hub (latest FW and like 15 feet from the relay) would not detect it. I did factory resets, exclusions multiple times, dozens of inclusions, all of which failled. It finally worked for no apparent reason I can tell. Once installed however, it works very well. The manual relay works very quickly. That doesn't require inclusion so worked well right from the start. Once included in my Z-Wave network, automations are very quick as well, though slightly delayed compared to the manual relay (as you would expect). Assuming I have no more Z-Wave network issues, it will serve very well to automate my stairs light were the neutral wire is at the light and not at the switch.
