Authority Laptop Backpack Deluxe, Eco Nightfall

UPDATE: 2 years later, lots of travel for work and personal and this thing still looks and feels new. Super sturdy and it holds everything I need. The side pocket for the water bottle hasn’t stretched out at all. This is a great backpack. ORIGINAL: I don't do 5 star ratings because really "... love it?" I love this backpack. It's light, strong, snug and thinner than I thought it would be loaded. I carry a Surface 3 laptop, a 12.9 iPad Pro, Bose headphones, a Plantronics headset, the laptop charger and all the other various cords in an Amazon Basics zip case and a tilt stand for my laptop. The bag doesn't have a suspension pocket for the laptop, but everything fits snugly and feels well-padded and secure. I've dropped it a couple of times with no issue. The straps are comfortable even with this load and it feels balanced. The extra pockets for phone, keys, meds whatever are thoughtfully designed and don't bulge out when loaded. I've got all my stuff in it right now and it's maybe 8 inches thick so it goes under an airline seat and I can shove my toes underneath it and stretch a little. The water bottle pocket fits your standard water bottle no issue, and holds it securely. The shell is water resistant to even a drenching rain storm. The shell fabric wears well - I've had it a year now and it looks basically new. The strap to go around your luggage handle is almost too snug - you have to stretch it to get it on, but it holds tight and doesn't make my carry on fall over, so props there. I have one quibble and it's a small one. The fabric is sufficiently flexible that you have to use two hands to close the top zippers. If you try to pull with one hand the zipper folds. Given everything else they got right I'm sticking with 5 stars.

Tons are lots, the different zipper pockets separate things also my computer my portable speaker. My water bottle has strap on the side water thermos comfortable has charger battery for my phone built in

If you're downsizing from one of those huge 25-30L backpacks--and also are cognizant of the FAA's tightening size limits for carry-ons in 2026--this is a great smaller 20L backpack. It has top-quality construction, just the right amount of pockets/zippers, and is extremely comfortable to wear (really nice straps).

Initial thoughts. This bag is of the quality I’d expect from Timbuck2. Thick material. Smooth sliding zippers. The pockets are well thought out. The size is perfect. The back padding is unique and very pleasant when wearing the pack. The straps are well padded. Worth noting for the bigger folks. The width between the straps for some bags from “fancy” brands are a bit narrow at the top. It’s like skinny jeans for backpack straps. They pinch / rub where my neck meets my shoulders, just slightly but uncomfortable. This pack isn’t that. It’s very comfortable to wear. A pack can have all the pockets and cool features. If it doesn’t wear comfortably … what’s the point. This pack is comfy. Only reason I am giving it 4 stars is the cup holder. It’s laughably small. A head scratcher for a bag so well thought out otherwise. I use a “rambler” cup from a very popular brand (rhymes with Betty) and it just barely kinda sorta fits. I can only imagine a small single use water bottle would fit well. Again, strange that they didn’t make it just a bit wider / larger. Also the straps on the bottom are gimmicky. No idea what a practical use would be for them.

It stores my laptop, tablet, Switch, eReader, earbuds, and cables for everything as well as a small handful of other things. Everything feels securely protected and even fully loaded it doesn't feel bulky at all. The straps are comfortable and it's been much easier on my back carrying everything around than my prior backpack had been.

Nice quality, fits all my things, looks nice, seems tough. It’s replacing a Speck bag I used and/or traveled with every day for 6+ years before coming apart. Lots of pockets and compartments, easy to open, and I like the sternum strap for when I’m traveling. Haven’t traveled with it yet but I will soon.

I love this backpack. I needed a bag that could carry my laptop and all my cables and stuff, as well as a small purse with my wallet. This thing can hold a ton of stuff. The laptop pocket can hold a big laptop (I easily fit a 15” laptop in there, I suspect it could hold a 16” or larger), and the smaller tablet pocket can easily hold a small laptop instead of a tablet (i put a 13” laptop in). There are lots of smaller pockets, making it easy to store your stuff in a way that lets you find what you need. I like that this bag is big enough to hold a change of clothing while traveling. The bag’s material is thick and sturdy but the bag isn’t too heavy when empty. Straps are comfortable and it has the little clip between the shoulder straps that goes on your chest (which helps distribute the weight). It can slide onto the top of a roller bag, too. I didn’t notice any smell. It’s as good as a Tumi but less than half the price.

Beautiful quality, nice layout. Not quite as wide in the two main pockets as I thought but with some reorganising it works really well.

Nice looking and compact laptop bag with large capacity. It’s comfortable to wear and even after walking under hot sun for several minutes, my back is still dry.

Ausreichend kleine Taschen im vorderen Bereich, um Schlüssel, Stifte, Brille, Powerbank und Notizblock unterzubringen. Im Mittelteil ein tieferes Fach für die größeren Dinge bis hin zu Sportschuhen, ganz hinten ganz das Notebook sicher verstaut werden. An den Seiten noch Platz für Trinkflasche und Regenschirm. Der Clou: Der Rucksack lässt sich am Boden durch zwei Riemen enger schnallen, sodass er nur so dick vom Rücken absteht wie nötig. Dabei ist der Rucksack angenehm leicht und er lässt sich, wenn er schwerer ist, leicht mit Riemen und Schnalle vor der Brust befestigen. Alles in allem: extrem praktisch.
