I was looking for a lantern that wouldn't blind me when being used in my apartment when there is a power outage from a storm, hurricane or whatever. I was also looking for one that would have a good battery life. This one is perfect for my needs. It is brighter than my deceased lantern but having it on the lowest setting was just right for my needs. I got the chance to use it and it lit up my living room nicely providing me with more than enough light. It's got a bit of weight to it which I expected but it's not very heavy with the batteries in it. The battery area is clearly labeled for which direction the batteries go.
