Cable Matters 3-Pack 15-Pin SATA Power Extension Cable, 8 Inch SATA Male to Female Extension for HDD, SSD, Optical Drive, SATA Power Extender for PC PSU

Many PSUs come with a SATA daisy-chained power cable that has right angle connections along it. This does not work well with drives in cases like mine where the drive mounts flat to a vertical surface. Furthermore there is often not enough clearance in the side panel of the case to accommodate fishing the PSU cable up there. For this scenario, these extension cables work well as they have a strait connector on both ends and are 12 inches long which should give plenty of length to run to a device. Yes they are the classic ugly "ketchup and mustard" cables, but they are good quality and likely wont be visible through your glass side panel anyway.

Most SATA power cables consist of daisy-chained right-angled connectors. This works well for a SATA drive in a tray as in the photo. However, in some situations, like the verically placed drive in my photo, this meant that after closing the computer case, there was a lot of tension on my Samsung SSD hard drive. The Cable Matters 15 Pin 8" SATA Power Extension Cable solved the problem perfectly. I have found that Cable Matters products are high quality. This was a game changer.

it does the job, and for not a lot of money.

I have a new full tower PC case where the HDDs are held vertically on the back side of the wall instead of cage mounted horizontally and stacked on top of each other. (this design is aesthetically pleasing since you don't see that mess in your case, and also allows better air flow to your GPU card.) However, my current power cables just didn't have the distance to connect the 2 drives now that the power ports were farther apart. Also, since these are out of the main window view, I didn't need to get more expensive decked out color coordinated and sleeved cables.

Great Cables. Thick and high quality build. You can just instantly tell that these are of much better quality than most cables of this type. Pros: Good length Quality built Connects securely to device. Cons: None to mention. I had 2 devices that my PSU power cables wouldn't reach. I have a modular power supply and could have added another SATA power wire but I didn't want more wire mess from thick power supply cables so I opted to use these on 2 SATA plugs that were being un-used but just couldn't reach where I need them. These are great for that and work well. If you build computers and need something to help with cable management, these work great.

It's flexible, it bends nice in the tight spot that my HDD is in my case, and it works just fine.
