New Shotguns come out every year
The shotgun is one of the most used firearms in the history of shot. Marine Raiders had no back up, it was just Buckshot and their Bowie knives. Not much has changed in shotguns except for categories and variations. These are still kicking in teeth to this day. Every year new shotguns are released, because they're effective in reliability. What's more tactical than pellets covering a target to ensure a quick field day ? Shotguns are suitable for hunting and they don't require grenade launchers, axe bayonets, scopes, lanterns, blow darts, or complicated stocks. Shells are glue stick size and bright ,so I can't imagine these falling apart in the hands of a hunter, officer, or soldier.

Trench Guns!
Good overview of Trench Gun history and use. Not the greatest on details between different models and eras but overall a pleaseant and informative read.

If you like history and shotguns you need to read this.
Great history - some good photos but could have had more. Like to see the older shotguns especially the M97 WWI trench gun.

US Combat Shotguns
I gave book a 5 star rating because it is a great reference for shotguns that are used in the military today, as well as past shotguns from the days of WWI - gulfwar. I would recommend this book to anyone who has an interest in miliary small arms.

A comprehensive but easy read
I enjoyed reading this book. It is the usual high quality from Osprey. Very comprehensive review of military shotguns from the revolution to current day.

ร un libro scritto molto bene! ร pieno di rapporti su fatti storici nei quali viene raccontato l' impiego del shotgun e le distanze di impiego, le munizioni e il tipo di 'piombo'usato (se buckshot o palla asciutta o altro ancora) . Peccato che poi prenda l'aspetto di un elenco dei fucili di questo tipo. Per un novizio dell'argomento รจ consigliabile.:-) Galland5:-):-):-)
