The bag for shoes is great too. - Padded straps and back. - Good looking. The not so good: - It dosen't keep the shape and the compression straps don't help much. I had to figure out a way to accommodate things in a way the the backpack didn't look too bulky on the sides. - The mid and large size packing cubes are too shallow and big so I couldn't use them. I have been pleased with the quality and the capacity, the only issue I am finding is that it is WAY too easy to overpack, resulting in a lot of weight to carry around, so that is something to be mindful of. The packing cubes are helpful, however I prefer using compression cubes, but it is nice to have the option of regular cubes.
