Getting the hose loose could be difficult
On my Honda engine walk behind I let the air filter get filthy. Then the mower wouldn't run. Research identified the parts needed for a tune up. I bought them separately because I could not find a tune up kit that matched my engine. Videos showed how to access the fuel filter, but the detail across multiple videos showed the same model, but different configurations of the fuel hose to carburetor installations. In my case the tubing run was so short I was tempted to just cut and replace the tubing. In the end I was able to break loose the hose and get it off the fuel tank without ruing the hose. Replacing the fuel filter was easy after that. I Removed the carb bowl and cleaned out a bunch of dirt. Watch a video on this. Of course new air filter. Mower runs fine now. Because of the dirt I found in the carb bowl i don't think the problem was the fuel filter.
