Later, after my gums shrank, the dentist said that he no longer lines the dentures. He said that I needed new ones. Can't afford that, so I bought and tried Perma Soft. The directions don’t specifically state it, but one package is only enough for one denture, either top or bottom, but not both or the reline will be way too thin and not cushion adequately. #1: oozing. The trick here is not to use too much product. The package has more than you’ll need, so after mixing, stir, stop for 10 seconds, and stir again. You don’t want it runny, just thick enough to not easily run off the denture so gently stir until thick enough. It doesn’t take long so do not leave the mixture at this point. If it doesn’t stay on the denture it won’t work. This also minimizes the taste because it doesn’t go all over in the mouth. 2: when it’s thick enough and in the denture, place the denture into your mouth, but DO NOT BITE DOWN! DO NOT BITE AT ALL! And second, too much pressure causes the reline material to ooze and whatever oozes lessens the cushion of the liner. Once in your mouth gently lay (NOT PUSH) your open index and middle fingers (to form a V for evenly steadying), just laying them there to keep it from moving. Use both hands to stabilize both sides. No you won’t have too much on the denture, you want a nice cushion which is what a reline does, to make it snug. And even without pressure it will mold to your gums. As stated in the directions, when it tells you to, cut off the excess with a small, sharp knife, but trim only overhang. Stop there! Finish the process and wear the denture(s). By wearing the denture and eating you will more easily feel and spots that need trimmed. It can take a day or 2 to notice and rubbing or discomfort, it took 2 days for me to know actually where to trim. When it does, put your index finger directly where it uncomfortable or sore and keep it there as you remove the denture so you can better tell where to trim. ONLY trim a very small amount and try them and cut a very small amount and wait because it’s very very easy to remove too much. I use an emery board, so you don’t cut too much, using rough side and then smoother side, but lightly! BTW, I was just at the dentist's office last week and was going to get my upper plate and lower partial professionally relined and they wanted $300 for the lower and $400 for the upper; plus I would be without them for 24 hours---NO WAY. I've been relining my own since 1997 and at those prices will continue to do the relining myself. **Q: Lost instructions, please help,** A: You mix the liquid with the powder stir till a nectar consistency.Then pour mixture into your dentures spread with the wooden stick.Put dentures into your mouth then bite down and hold for a couple minutes.then take them out and rinse them in cold water.trim the edges off with a pairing knife then put them back in your mouth bite down for a few seconds then take out and rinse them again.The taste is awful if it bothers you too much soak in cold water with a little baking soda in it.Do not soak your dentures in hot water and do not use the fizz denture cleaners or the reliner will not last long.I just brush mine with tooth paste and soak them in cold plain water.I have been using this product for a long time it works great and lasts over 2 years.it is flammable don't smoke while mixing it. **Q: I bought this product, however, I lost the instructions, can anyone please help me with the instructions?? I would not thicken up and when I put the denture into my mouth hoping I was wrong about how thick it should be the mixture went down my throat and I ended up vomiting it up later.
