Description says 14". Does it really stand 14" tall? Real beagles r 13 r 15" tall so shudnt b 2 small.** A: I gave the toy to a friend, but my memory is that it was very high quality, and I was very pleased with this purchase. Was it 14" tall ? I honestly don't remember. I didn't measure it with a ruler. It definitely wasn't as big as a real beagle, but it was a good size. **Q: Appropriate for a 10 year old?** A: Great for a ten year old. The material is soft, the stuffing is soft enough to hug or cuddle, but can still stand on its own. Durable, easily washed, and still very cute. A great choice for a present. **Q: The ears are tacked down with thread. Is the thread to clipped or leave as is.** A: The one I received was not tacked down with thread.
