I love these quick disconnects. Despite that fact that they will not take much abuse, they are affordable and are somewhat practical to replace as they may break. I likely have a dozen of the male ends and 3-4 female ends across multiple hoses and devices and they all work great. If you have 3/4 supply lines, this will restrict the flow if you use the female ends with the back flow internals. However, you can punch out the back flow component easily and negate most if not all flow restrictions. For as much as I like the Melnor disconnects, their sprayer heads are very under engineered and I don't like them. I pair these connects with the Orbit sprayers like this one here: https://amzn.to/4uo9TZn The flow and patterns make way more sense compared to the Melnor sprayer. However, the Melnor disconnects do work perfectly with the Orbit sprayer. That's my setup and love it. Enjoy!

I use to purchase the brass quick disconnect / connect from the orange big box store but found myself replacing those each year. These plastic pieces have now lasted a couple years through all the seasons that Minnesota throws at them. They are also easier to disconnect and connect -- My wife would always request help with the brass ones and these ones she does without issue. Water pressure, ease of use, and speed to use - 5/5. My only complaint is my kids find a way to crack the smaller male piece occasionally by throwing around the hose (or whatever else they are doing). Thankfully I've always been able to remove the piece from the fitting and just pop on a new one (we have a few extra around the house as they are so affordable and easy to fix). Will continue to use these for the foreseeable future.

Use case: I have more nozzles to attach and needed an option that included that. *These are easily attached. You’ll want to use Oatey or similar brand tape. Also, for the male, you’ll want a wrench to give the final twist (be careful not to over do it. *They connect and disconnect easily and there is a locking feature (haven’t found need for it). *There is no leaking at any of the attachment points or when connected. *There is no flow through on the female side so you’ll need to keep the nozzle on as you shut off and wait for the water to drain out. *There is flow through on the male side so be sure to let the nozzle fully drain (may need to give it a couple shakes). *The hose attachment remains attached (even in this heat) so we’ll see how well it does. The nozzles are not left out. All in all works great for me and the quantity of pieces is better than what I’ve found in stores. P.S. Aluminum oxidizes so they will require periodic maintenance (probably need to soak in vinegar and water combo; 1tbsp to 2cups). Unless it’s solid brass (not brass plating) it won’t be a set it and forget it option.

Convenient his connectors. Thea work great. I have bought multiple packs. I have used quick connect on my hoses before but these are great. These have advantages over ny previous quick connects. (1) previous were brass and more expensive. These are lighter weight plastic. The brass ones get difficult over time. These are easy kn and easy off. (2) previous brass allows water to pass when nothing is connected. As a result you had to turn the hose out to change nozzle. These are much better and allow you to change nozzles when the hose water is still on. No water passes though the connector when you disconnect the nozzle. Makes it easier to change nozzles Turn to lock is a nice feature too. Lastly, I use these on my Yamaha 150 ports to flush the engines. Makes this task so much easier. Get them for $10 or less and that’s a fair price.

3 stars because at least one out of two of them works as advertised without leaking…so far. But unfortunately one has leaked since first use. ❇️ I was looking for a device that would allow me to change water hose attachments and hook ups with ease despite still having water in the hose. Several of the metal devices I’ve tried would not allow for disconnection if there was any water remaining in the hose despite the fact the water supply was turned off. So I would have to unscrew the “quick release” metal device either from the hose or attachment sprayer to drain the water just to be able to pull the quick release female part to release the male portion of the device….so it absolutely defeats the purpose of a Quick Release! ✅ This Melnor Quick Release device works as intended…but I gave it 3 stars due to quality control issues with one out of two leaking.

Always bought Gardena….thought they were the best. Last time I needed, Gardena was LONG ship time, so I ordered Melnor. Easily equal quality! I was impressed….probably made in the same factory!

Leaks depsite adding the sealing tape. Waited weeks for the delivery and couldn't use it at the end

I have used these for over a year now and made multiple purchases to add to it. I would recommend these for anyone who wants to have quick disconnects that are reliable, strong and don’t leak. I especially like the locking mechanism as I don’t accidentally disconnect the hose from the nozzle.
