Exceptional performance and ergonomics for a budget price
Amazing performance from an inexpensive bow. I ordered a 35# bow and it checks out as 34# @28" and 36# @29" so that's just as expected and it's easy to draw. Surprising to me was that in doing some bare shaft testing I found it liked 32" 400 spine arrows about as well as some 29" 500 spine arrows. Exceptional arrow speed compared with bows four times the cost. Standard diameter carbon arrows or wood arrows with 11/32" od work best, and it's easy to learn to be accurate with traditional archery methods with this bow when shooting off the shelf using the horse hair rests included. Superior ergonomics for the grip. The string (decent quality dacron) needs some twisting but the bow gets very quiet and smooth at 7 3/4" brace height. Glurak did a nice job of packing this bow with just the things you need for the bow itself and did not include a shooting tab or arm guard. Best price and fast delivery with Prime.

Beautiful finish, feels good, good weight, well-balanced.
Bought this for my 20year old son for Christmas. As soon as I put it together...well let's just say mine should be arriving wednesday! I used to shoot my grandpa's old Bear Grizzly( from the 60's) for years, until I broke it(doing the leg-bend method to string it). This bow is beautiful, the photos don't do it justice. I haven't fired it yet, just stung it and pulled it back to feel that old feeling. Well-packaged, went together perfectly, IMHO it's a functional work of art. these guys love building bows. I read tons of reviews and settled on this instead of a Sammick or Sage, and I'm so happy. For the price, I'm blown away. No holes for attachments, but I'm a purist. I did buy a simple stick-on arrow rest(Bass Pro had a decent inexpensive one much like the one I used to use) instead of shooting off the shelf, and bought a Keshes stringer, which works perfectly with this bow. The string seems well-made, we'll see how it holds up. Tiger arrows just arrived tonight. Looking forward to shooting again with my son. P.S. The stringer and arrows also from Amazon, I'm so pleased. Thanks guys!

Good low cost shooter
Overall Fairley well made on the important parts: limbs look straight; they secure to the riser straight and solid; string looks like it's well made. No obvious imperfections that would cause it to function poorley. However it draws a bit over 40 lbs @28. The not so important things. Part of the staining on the riser is a bit washed out/faded. Like it was stained before final sanding then sanded a bit too much. A bit more important the string knocks are not sharp but could have been sanded in much better. Will see if it weares on the string. I'm hesitant to work on them due to warrantee. I'm shooting Easton tribute aluminum 1816 arrows with a 125gn point. Three 4" feathers. 31-1/4 inch long shaft. 453.2 gn total weight. These shoot very well with a brace height of 7-5/8" and the center of the arrow knock at 7/8" above the shelf. I settled at that brace height because it seemed to vibrate the least there. Cat whiskers installed afterwards really quieted it down. I measured the draw weight four times at 28" and got pounds: 43.68; 43.58; 43.44. At my drawl length of 26.5" I got four measurements at pounds: 39.94; 40.20; 40.5; 39.94. Granted my scale is a hand held battery operated device that hasn't been certified by the department of weights and measures and a two pound difference in listed and measured drawl weight isn't bad so I'm not considering this a problem.

Great bow
I searched for an entry level bow for quite some time. I watched a lot of videos and read reviews and finally settled on this one. It was a great balance of price point, design and style for me. I wanted a takedown recurve that looked great and shot great. So I finally got this one and I am very happy with it. Some people may have pieces come in damaged or warped but that's no different than a defective product at Walmart, things happen. I didn't have any of those issues. I twisted my string 30 twists and strung the bow, let it sit over night and shot it the following day. After about an hour of shooting I had to twist the string another 10 twists to maintain the riser height and re-snug the limb bolts but that's to be expected with it being new and getting broken in. I am using no sights, shooting by feel. This bow has made that quite easy as it shoots consistent for me. I use it for target and for hunting, I got the 45lb draw. Lightweight, looks great, shoots great. Everyone that sees it thinks it was more expensive than it was. Thanks guys.

Great Recurve for Bow Fishing
Really nice bow. We got this bow to become our fishing bow, and it is all that is advertised to be. Works very well, is great for beginners, has a very smooth draw and is comfortable at 35 lbs. to hold for just a second longer while looking at those carp and stingrays. It's also very pretty if that is a category for archery, who doesn't want their bow to look great.

Riser is splitting in multiple places.
This is a very nice shooting bow. However, mine has developed several very concerning cracks through the laminations which line up with the limb bolt on both top and bottom. This is only a 40# model, so not alot of stress on the riser. If I could contact the manufacturer, I would, however, I do not see that option.

Great bow for price !!
Fast shipping, arrived well protected with no damage. Assembled fast and easy. Did not come with nocking point, string silencers or stringer, I purchased those separately from a local shop. I have not shot instinctive for over 30 years (I have been shooting compound w/sights since my late teens). The fit and finish are good, and other limbs are available if I want to change. I purchased 45# limbs, but at my 31" draw, It pulls 55#. I ordered 40# limbs in the hope it puts me at 45-50 lb at full draw. The grip is comfortable, and it fits snug in the hand. The Black Hunter also very fast using carbon arrows, and quiet with the silencers installed. I had the bow shop change the factory string, and that helped with noise. Again, for the sub $150.00 price, it's a safe bet if you are just starting out or getting back into the traditional game. Good luck, aim small, miss small.
