Improvement over the tiny leather keeper on boonie hats
Definitely a major improvement over the little piece of leather that's part of milspec boonie hats. I always find those to slip and let the hat loosen. Using the smallest of the options that come in this set, the cord slips right in and the spring holds solidly. Very easy to use. Black, so goes with basically anything. Pleased with the purchase and the bag is an excellent value - huge number (more than I'll probably ever use) for a lower price (yes, could have gotten a smaller bag, but prices were the same; might as well get more for the same price or less).

Locks Larger Than Expected
These seem to be decent cord locks but only the smallest of the sizes provided would be aesthetically OK for shoe laces and even they would be a bit more bulky than the locks typically supplied with shoes that come with them. They seemed more appropirate for larger diameter paracord. After receiving this, I searched for smaller ones on Amazon and it appears that the only way to achieve this is to buy the shoe laces with the locks as none of the assortments appeared to include a more compact size. The springs seemed a bit on the light side for all but the smallest ones but have not strength tested them yet. Taking a star off for not providing a more compact size rather than any perceived quality issue but did note some reviewers complained about the line slipping through the lock.

Break easily
Used these on my sons pants. They break very easily with a small amount of pressure. My break I mean right in half like a poke ball.

My son's expensive varsity jacket had a broken one of these , we waited forever so didn't want to send back. These worked amazing and I was able to put some on a goodie string too. Recommend keeping these on hand
