Anchor Hocking Glass Bistro Pitcher with White Stopper, 64-Ounce, Clear

First of all, made in the USA. High quality glass workmanship; although is heavy, the design is easy to grab, hold, pour. The lid is flimsy, but mine fits well enough and being light, does not add to the weight off the carafe. It does not drip after a pour. I'm careful with it - use two hands almost all the time when handling it - putting it on a hard surface slowly, washing it slowly as to not bang/chip my sink. It is heavy! but even with my one 'bum' hand from a work injury, the design of it makes it totally workable. Highly recommend this quality product and do what we all can to keep manufacturing in the USA!!

This is my preferred container for iced tea. It is narrow, grippable for my hand and is made of clear and cleanable glass. The lid is a thinnesh flexible plastic stopper that extends into the mouth of the container and keeps stuff our and errant splashes of contents from coming out. While easily removed and inserted it does not sever well for vigorous shaking of contents. Shortcomings as noted on instructions ... it is not for hot liquids and is unforgiving on this. When i make iced tea i always fill about half the container with cold tap water and then poor hot brewed tea on top. This has worked well for me with no breaks. These days when they break (and quite a few have broken over the years) it is related to bumps of the container against other inflexible containers coming in and out of the fridge. So a bit pricey for a container that i've resigned myself is not for a lifetime. but their benefits as described outweigh shortcoming for me.

just what I was looking for ... reminds me , almost exactly . of the juice/ice tea container when I was a kid ... cuz I'm definitely trying to get away from plastics

It lasted two weeks before shattering in pieces. I use to make tea and let the water cool down a bit before pouring over tea bags. And it shattered. Never had that happen with a glass carafe before. And nothing like 24 OZ of hot water pouring out all over the kitchen on a Monday morning - memorable! I won't forget the name "Anchor Hocking" now and will avoid. Yes, I am angry and disappointed. I guess I can't return as the product does not promise hot water won't shatter it. And yes, I know about thermal shock - it was not cold before the water was poured. It was actually warm as had been washed in hot water. I can't imagine what this would do in an average dishwasher with hot water - be warned!

My sister had one of these and I loved it so much I had to order one for myself. Great quality. Love the rectangular shape and the ridges. As a few other reviewers have mentioned, the cap doesn't seal. I wasn't expecting it to, nor does it seem like it's actually supposed to. It's just a lid to keep it covered.

This review is for a replaced item. First order arrived chipped on the bottom. Sent for rtn label and ordered another. Overall happy with item, seems sturdy and there is peace of mind this is made in the usa. The only "but" is the cover is a bit weird like others who commented. Its a cover but very loose. Like you could shake the juice for mixing and it would splash right out. Weird?? Wish they would work on a tighter sealed plastic cap. At anyrate its slim enough to have a small footprint in the fridge. I really am trying to get away from storing food in plastic so this is a good piece to add. Perfect for oj.

Can't be beat, for the price. I don't really ever use the lid, so I can't comment on that, but as a water pitcher during meal time this is a wonderful replacement to my last glass picture, which I broke the thin handle off of. Anchor Hocking's take on the glass picture feels very solid.

This pitcher is excellent. Serves its purpose. I have absolutely no complaints. It's well made and at a good price.

I have three of these pitchers and they are extremely efficient in terms of design. All fit easily on the top shelf of my fridge side by side. The first two I have had for years and only recently purchased the third one. With that history I can attest to the quality over time including the rubber stopper. They are dishwasher safe and the rubber stopper continues to be flexible. The only reservation I have is the price which I consider high for what it is. Having said that, if this 3rd pitcher gets through as many years as their first two, I will not regret the expenditure.
