I liked the idea of making a wish box for my Niece. I made one for me first to check it out. To get the pieces out of the mold, roll the mold down, like turning a sock inside out. Hinges... 1. Put the hinges together. 2. On the box, put a small dot of superglue on the outside of the hinge opening. Both sides. 3. Put the hinges in the openings so the flat side is flush with the box and the round part is poking out the back. 4. On the lid, Put a small dot of superglue on the inside of the hinge openings. 5. Press the lid onto the box hinges. I used painters tape to tightly hold the pieces together while the glue set. Hinges complete! I used a thin piece of painters tape to hold the latch in place. Set it on the box where I wanted it. Marked the spots where the screws go and drilled a tiny divot in the resin. That way, it's easier to attach the screws. The last 2 pics show the final piece. I put coins in for size reference. Go for it! Just have fun with it. Good luck!

The mold has nice detail. Some of the other reviewers said that it was small, but it is large enough for keeping a few pieces of jewelry or other treasures in it. It took me a couple of tries to get the demolding right. I used a commercial grade of ceramics to cast the item. I needed to let the casting set for 24 hours to gain strength. When I did, the casted pieces came out well. Essentiall, there is a mold for the main body of the chest. There are two for the cover, and then you have two for parts of the hinges in the back. When I let the castings cure for a day, they came out with no damage from the molds. Using the hinges is tricky. There is a slot in the back of the cover and the main body to put the hinges into. You might need to experiment a bit to figure out where to put the glue and how much. All in all, it is an interesting mold that produces a unique product. It has a bit of a learning curve, and your mileage may vary.

VERY hard to put together! I tried 2x and gave up. Used a lot of resin. Followed videos but nothing kept it together.

So this looks super cool. My issues were not being able to paint the inside with my pigment and not being able to put it together because that's damn near impossible

The mold works just fine. However, the small hinge pieces do not attach together like they should because the mold to the small hinges has too small of prongs to even work. Also wish there was a "how to" video on building the chest once it's out the mold. Had to do some deep research to find a video and that didn't even do the job.

It's a lot smaller than I expected and I didn't expect the hinges to have to be made and put on the way they do either. It was a little difficult and it's leaves rhem a little flimsy but it still works and is cute as ever. Totally happy with it.

Great mold, arrived without any distortion. Attaching the resin hinges so they look perfect is a bit tricky but so worth it for the finished product!
