Is the material damp proof it looks very light weight?

I've not tested the bags in damp conditions; we bought them to tidy up piles of householed items on shelves, so there's bedding, clothing and (I think) some books, but all indoors. I would not risk any of that in a damp area, though the fabric is quite heavy. The zip is not an airtight seal.
