A Solid, Adjustable iPad Stand Worth the Upgrade
I recently picked up the Twelve South HoverBar Duo (2nd Gen), and it has made a big difference in how I use my iPad day-to-day. The combination of the weighted desk base and the option to switch to a shelf clamp gives it a level of flexibility most stands don’t offer. I can raise the iPad up to eye level for FaceTime or Zoom, lower it for reading or drawing, or clamp it to a counter when I’m following a recipe. The whole setup feels premium and well-built. One of the things that stands out is the magnet strength. It’s surprisingly strong and holds the iPad in place without slipping, even when I rotate or tilt it to different angles. It snaps on with a really secure feel, which gives you confidence that the device isn’t going anywhere. The design also looks great on a desk—sleek, clean, and minimal. It blends in nicely with Apple gear instead of looking like a bulky piece of equipment. It’s extremely adjustable, too. You can tilt it, raise it, lower it, and rotate it with ease. It keeps the iPad up off the desk so there’s more room to work, and it pairs nicely next to a laptop or monitor. It works with multiple iPad sizes, so I don’t need separate stands for different devices. There are a few things to keep in mind. It’s definitely more expensive than basic stands, so if you just need something simple, this might feel like more than you need. Switching between the desk base and the clamp takes a bit of time, since it’s not a quick attach system. And if you’re using a heavier iPad and extending the arm out farther, you do need to tighten the joints well to keep it from drooping. As for the weight, the base is heavier than most stands, which ends up being a good thing because it keeps everything sturdy and prevents tipping. But because of that weight, it’s not really a stand you’d want to move around constantly. Overall, it’s a great stand if you want something solid, stable, and highly adjustable. The build quality, magnet strength, and clean design make it feel like a premium accessory, and it’s worth the investment if you regularly use your iPad for work, calls, cooking, or creative tasks.

Perfect for Teachers
The Twelve South HoverBar Duo (2nd Gen) is an absolute essential for any modern workspace, but for educators, it is a complete game-changer. It is rare to find a piece of tech gear that is as sturdy as it is flexible, and this stand nails the balance perfectly. Robust Support for the iPad Pro M5 Finding a stand that can securely hold the 13-inch iPad Pro M5 without wobbling is a challenge, but the HoverBar Duo handles it with ease. The reinforced arm and weighted base provide a rock-solid foundation, ensuring your largest tablet stays exactly where you position it. The Ultimate Teacher’s Assistant This stand truly shines in a classroom environment. Its versatility allows it to wear many hats throughout the school day: Desktop Monitor Mode: Position the iPad at eye level next to your computer for a seamless dual-screen setup while you're grading or planning lessons. The "Drafting Table" Flex: When it’s time to use the Apple Pencil, you can easily extend the arm across the desk and lower the iPad to a comfortable writing angle. It feels stable under pressure, making digital note-taking feel natural. A High-Definition Document Camera: This is where it becomes a classroom powerhouse. You can hover the iPad directly over the desk to act as a document camera. It’s perfect for displaying science labs in real-time; students can watch every detail of an experiment on the classroom TV as you perform it. Unmatched Adjustability The "Duo" name refers to the included weighted desk base and the shelf clamp, giving you the freedom to mount your iPad almost anywhere. Whether you’re at your main desk or a lab station, the multi-jointed arm allows for infinite angles—vertical, horizontal, or anywhere in between. The Verdict: The Twelve South HoverBar Duo isn't just a stand; it’s a productivity tool that adapts to the chaotic, multi-tasking nature of teaching. If you want to unlock the full potential of your iPad Pro in the classroom, this is the best investment you can make.

Doesn’t support weight of iPad Pro 12.9”
The stand looks great but it is not functional. If the arm is not fully tightened the iPad just tips forward. Adjusting the arm is difficult and it has to stay in only one position, if you try to move it, it tips. It does hold my 12.9” iPad but the case has to be removed each time. Disappointed. I returned this item.

Do not buy
Can not hold the ipad pro in vertical orientation. It slips out. Also in general build looks cheap. I love twelve south products but this one is a complete miss.

Great assistive device for personal/work use!
This is a great product! Versatile for both work use and personal use. Makes it easier for elderly parents who aren’t able to hold the phone and interact via FaceTime. Great assistive device! I can see my mom clearly and she can see me without struggling to hold the phone. She can enjoy conversations with loved ones (at an ergonomically correct height!). Great for videoconferencing! If I had one ask, it would be for the manufacturer to make the base covering shatterproof. The staff at the facility has dropped it a few times, but it hasn’t affected the arm usage, just the base cover cracked/came off.

Perfect
Easy to use and stable. If you use it on a flat surface it is sooo much better than the type with flexible legs!

Lasted a few years, but ultimately
Had my Duo Stand for a few years now. Recently, the ball and socket joint that the iPad sits on has gotten damaged somehow. The metal that holds the ball in place is bent and my iPad no longer sits on the stand without the weight eventually pulling the screen down.

Best name-brand iPad holder
I use the Hover Bar so I can use my iPad as a second screen for my Mac. It’s particularly nice when I attend seminars — I can move the seminar screen onto the iPad and continue working on my main screen. I do wish Apple let SideCar be used in portrait mode, though. For this usage scenario, the HoverBar is perfect. I see on their web site that they say you could use it while directly interacting with the iPad, such as for drawing or typing. I’m not convinced this would work well. The iPad jiggles a bit when attached to such a long mounting arm due to physics. Unless you have a non-adjustable arm, you are going to get some jiggle. I saw some reviews saying that their iPad sags. You have to tighten the right screws so it won’t sag. The screw in question is the one in the back of the arm. If you tighten that, there’s no sag. The iPad is held securely… I have absolutely no worries that it will fall out. I keep my iPad in a case that has a permanently attached cover. The HoverBar has no problems with the extra thickness. What I would love to see with the HoverBar is a magnetic plate option — newer iPad Pros and iPad Airs have magnets on the back, and there are competing products (but shorter height) that permit the iPad to magnetically attach to the mounting plate for easy removal. Aesthetically they look much nicer than the HoverBar’s “sides” between which you insert your iPad. The base has a plastic exterior, but it doesn’t look cheap. That said, it really should be metal at this price point. The inside of the base is metal, so the base has decent heft and weight, and there’s never a worry that the iPad will topple over. Overall, a good buy. There are some cheaper options available — some of which look quite nice — but I indeed up going with this one because Twelve South is known to make good stuff, and I didn’t want to be in a situation where I had to return it.

Very stable
I love it good quality and strong and stable , but if you have a newer iPad where it attaches with magnet on side , maybe this is not for you as clamps get in the way .

Produit robuste

Comunque ottimo.
