Outdoor Dimmer for String Lights, 560W Plug-in Dimmer with Timer Waterproof

Bought this to dim some outdoor string lights I had hung for my mom at her permanent campsite, who insisted they were just too bright. Took me a few minutes to realize I had to pair the remote with the lights after plugging in or the remote wouldn't work. Read the directions. After I had it synced, it worked great! There are 4 dimmer settings, several timer options and the remote doesn't have to be pointed directly at it to turn them on/off. Would definitely buy again.

Nothing to dislike here. Great hangers and heavy wire for screwing the lights on my deck/porch overhang which means no sagging. The remote control is fantastic and works well inside the house about 20 feet away from the outdoor unit that plugs in. The timer works and the dimmer goes down to a nice relaxing non glaring level. At 100% they are very bright and you could definitely read a book out there after dark. At the lowest setting I feel comfortable leaving them on all night as a porch light without a high electric bill. I found replacement bulbs at Home Depot so no worries there even though the give you two extra bulbs. A couple times the lights flashed on and off rapidly but they settled down after a few seconds which is common with LED bulbs on a dimmer in my experience.

This dimmer actually worked great once I understood how to set it up. The remote is nice to have. I feel both the dimmer and the remote are well made. This is a stand along dimmer meaning it is not controlled by an app. I decided I really did want a dimmer I could control with the Apple Home App so I did end up returning this dimmer and got one compatible with the Home app. However, the Palawell Dimmer did everything is was supposed to and was a quality product.

Great upgrade! I replaced a 7 year old outdoor unit with this. Super easy install. Several timer functions so you can set it and walk away. Also great dimming options. Worth the money.

The "slide" portion of the dimmer doesn't give enough in-between settings. Seems like it's programmed with the predetermined illumination.

Works great! I have multiple LED string lights attached that are not labeled as dimmable and I am able to dim my lights with no issues or flickering. I have used this for a couple of months now pretty much daily and it still works great.

This is the second one I bought. The first one was May 2, 2024 and was working until I noticed the string of lights flickering. I bought a second one April 1, 2026 and four weeks ago I noticed the lights flickering again. I discounted the power to the unit and was going to trouble shoot the problem. Last week I counted the power to the unit and have been watching it the lights about every other day when I remember. This past Monday, my wife saw the lights flickering for a moment and then stopped. Last night (Thursday), I saw the lights flickering. I got the remote and pushed on the 25% key and the lights still was flickering. I pushed on the 50%, 75% and 100% keys and they worked. I tired to turn off the lights with the remote and no luck. I disconnect the power to the unit and plugged the unit to an extension core and the lights came on with no flickering. Should I get a third unit ?

Love it! It works so well! The repeat timer feature coordinating the base station with the fob really sets this apart from the others!
