can i use this after the primary fermentation?

I use this for cider and mead after primary fermentation.

is that two tsp of bentonite for a 5 gallon batch of wine or is it for a gallon? Also, this bentonite looks much different from other bentonite

Thank you for your inquiry. The directions on the package is to use 4 teaspoons with 1 1/3 cup of warm water for 5 gallons.

can this be used for red wine during the final clarifying process?

I have used it while clearing a Cherry Wine, a Mango Wine, and a Mixed Berry Wine and all of them ended up being very clear. I think it will work for your wine. The only issue I have is in creating the "slush' mixture to add to the wine. I have found that by mixing the bentonite in a 1/2 cup of the wine being made works best for me. Thanks

I do not know, but it works with mead.

Difficult to rehydrate; but works like a charm

This was my first time using bentonite, and I had a very hard time hydrating it into a slurry (even after 24 hours), but it did an excellent job at clearing my apple wine. Perhaps all bentonite is like this. Does what it's meant to do!

Good for mead

I used this in some mead and it is now crystal clear - night and day vs doing it without. I put it in the primary and it's been clear since day one. No issues with fermentation - Not complete yet but the taste seems to be fine based on a taste test.
