Pureit RO – One Year Later, The Real Cost Revealed
When I bought the Pureit RO, it felt like a smart decision. A trusted brand, neat design, and a tempting price tag. I’ve been using this purifier for one full year, so this review is purely based on real experience — not first impressions. I purchased it at ₹8,500, and after discounts, it came down to around ₹7,300. At that price, it honestly felt like a great deal. But sadly, this is where the trap begins. Everything runs smoothly for the first few months. Then, just after 6–8 months or roughly 6,000 litres of usage, the purifier suddenly demands a complete filter replacement. No partial change, no option — all filters. And the shocking part? The replacement cost is around ₹5,500 😐 Do the math. Your yearly maintenance alone crosses ₹10,000, which is more than the cost of many standard RO purifiers available in the market. In comparison, other normal and reliable RO systems cost ₹3,000–₹4,000 per year for maintenance. It gets worse. You cannot replace the filters from local service providers. Even if they have compatible filters, the machine simply won’t accept them. The system is programmed in a way that only Pureit’s authorised filters work. So you’re locked in. You’re forced to order filters only through authorised distributors, and they usually take 7–15 days, saying the filters need to be ordered from the company. During this waiting period, either you live without purified water or arrange an alternative. In short: • Affordable purchase price ❌ misleading • Maintenance cost ❌ extremely high • Flexibility ❌ zero • Dependency on company ❌ 100% Final Verdict: Pureit RO is not expensive at the time of buying — it becomes expensive after you own it. If you’re okay with paying a premium every year and being dependent only on the company, go for it. Otherwise, there are far better and more economical RO options available in the market. Buy smart, not just branded.

GET - SET - ECO !!
Model - ECO (10L) Smooth installation by the Technician, beautiful and affordable Water Purifier ! Was always a HUL Pure-it user for the last 12+ years, first time buying Electronic Modern Gen version, as usual expecting 5000-6000 litters of lifespan as expected and described by seller, technician and everywhere, before maintenance. Hearing about maintenance costs yearly (or depending upon your water usage timeline) are high enough if going for entire Kit changing, but that should be natural right ? A product which is giving you 7 stage purification including a GKK kit should also fall under a good maintenance also, and it is a matter of Water and good quality. I know this bcos last 12 years my father use to buy Pure-it basic 2-3,000/- Filters and every 2-3-4 months we use to change 500-600/- rupees of Kit once Kit life span ends and the amount of liters from every Kit change was sufficient enough for us like a 3 member family. Similar way this 10L Tank is suitable for even 4-5 members family also, but once again depending upon your load of water usage daily. 0-10L Filling time is hardly 30 mins. Cauvery Water TDS was 170 and after this Water purifier installation currently TDS is coming 25-27-28 which was expected. Highly recommended if you're looking for a good water purifier under 10-12K. HUL Pure-it is always our family choice, expecting good service life and experience in upcoming days.
