Do it!
I was skeptical, but no need...the yeast is viable! I got a good proof on test batch with sturdy foam so it is fresh. The package was sealed and hard as a brick, as it should be. The cost for a pound was less than a 4 ounce jar. If you store your yeast air tight in your freezer, it can last for a couple years. I refilled my (over priced) old jar and divided the rest up between 3 zip lock bags. I then put the three sealed bags in a vac'n seal bag large enough so i can reseal it, marked the date and contents and stored it nice and flat in my freezer. I keep the working jar of yeast in the freezer and quickly remove it to measure out for my dough and put back immediately. Working jar is never out of the freezer for more than 30 seconds at a time😃.

Great value
This yeast is great. I don't regularly bake yeast bread but I like to have it in the house in case there is some kind of emergency The price is great and it is a lot of yeast so I usually give my daughter half of it. It is a big money saver to buy it this way!

Good product
Like this product, have used for years. Great price, stays potent for years in the fridge. Excellent for rye and quinoa etc combinations with white or whole wheat flour. Yeast bubbles quickly, haven't had any problems with this.

I always buy this yeast from amazon. Cheaper than in grocery store and works. Expiration is always good on this product.

Great yeast. Very consistent
It’s my favorite and only yeast for breads. I can only get it on Amazon. Not in my area. I get consistent rising on all my breads with this yeast.

Seems fine... but
Doesn't seem to rise as well as my Red Star bread machine yeast. But, it was fine in a pinch when this COVID-19 BS apparently zapped the inventory of yeast. I am guessing with everybody sitting around, they drank a lot of beer and this sucked the inventory over to the breweries. Anyway, seems good enough. Maybe I needed their other type for my bread projects? Might try that one too. I have a FoodSaver... I filled my red-star jar and evacuated the air from the remainder that was in the foil bag. I keep both in the fridge, not freezer. Think that's overkill since I've sucked the oxygen out, and the freezer is valuable real estate.
