Excellent for Sprouting!
These stainless steel sprouting lids are perfect for my sprouts. They fit wide-mouth mason jars securely, the mesh is fine and sturdy, and they make rinsing and draining super easy. I really appreciate that they’re made of 316 surgical stainless steel—completely rust-proof and built to last. The 6-pack is a great value and makes it easy to have multiple jars going at once. Excellent quality and very practical!

Plastic free, durable, rust free, simple, perfect
These work excellently. I sprouted two jars of lentils so far. I highly recommend. It’s super easy and affordable. Just add whatever you want to sprout to your Mason jars (follow instructions on how to sprout from a reliable source) and the screw on mesh lid is super convenient, simple and plastic free. Perfect! Plus, they come in regular and wide mouth lid sizes. Highly recommend. I’m going to purchase another set myself.

A great SANITARY solution for sprout growing!
It's hard to find good information on growing sprouts. I was one of those kids who grew up in the 90s with a health-conscious mother, and so I was exposed to "micro-greens" before they were cool, back in the days when all most people knew about sprouts was "Cha-cha-cha-cha-chia!" My mother used the stacked trays method, but eventually these simply stopped working. Every batch would be spoiled in some way and end up rotting more than growing. She believed that the plastic of the trays had become contaminated with something. When shopping for sprout-growing equipment, it was a high priority for me to have items that could be put in an autoclave if necessary, so this stainless steel lid, which screws onto a standard glass canning jar, is just about perfect. Pros: - Stainless steel is highly rust resistant. Yes, you can get it to rust, but if you keep acids off it and clean and dry it from time to time, it will be fine. - Fits a standard glass canning jar. - Mesh fine enough that I haven't had any problem with lost seeds. - Wide mouth, for easy cleaning and extraction of the sprouts. Being mostly familiar with trays, I wasn't sure what to expect from the jar method. Mostly I've been happy with my results. The sprouts get a bit all tangled together, but they are clean and fresh and tasty. I use 2 tablespoons of seeds to a quart jar, put them in the jar, cap on, rinse with clean water 3 times the first day, and 3-ish times thereafter. I set the jar on a stand with the lid downward--in daylight, but not direct sun. When draining and repositioning I try to keep the seeds fairly distributed around the jar. By the 5th to 6th day, I usually have a jar that is packed with sprouts and ready to eat.

Good quality, does not prevent fruit flies.
Good quality, but the mesh is not a tight enough weave to keep fruit flies out. Kind of defeats the purpose of the lid and trying to protect your investment.

Best Sprouting Lids! And this is why...
I'm an experienced sprouter since Tony Robbins's Unleash The Power Within event 2 years ago with Doug Evans (The Sprout Wizard). I saw UPW virtually way cheaper, but if people are paying thousands a ticket to see it live, everything is important and so you pay attention to every word! Evans was on for at least an hour telling everyone how sprouts are one of the healthiest things you can eat and they're super easy and super cheap to grow. I was Director of Research for a law firm for 8 years, so did lots of due diligence and so much yes to sprouts! I bought my first sprouting kit on Amazon years ago with metal rings and it rusted right away. Returned it thinking metal is not the way. I used cheesecloth for years, but it was very cumbersome. I didn't know that all stainless mason jar rings are not created equal. Fast forward to a few months ago. 316 surgical/marine stainless is a game changer! And you don't want a gap between the ring and the mesh screen parts where a few seeds can get caught leading to possibly dangerous microbe growth. These EcoPeaceful lids are one piece, so there's no possibility of anything getting caught between the parts. And they don't rust at all and are easy to clean! I just went to a friend's birthday party with several jars of sprouts for people to sample and made sprouting kits with these rings, 45° jar stands I bought in bulk, pathogen-tested sprout seeds (extremely important since you're eating them raw and growing them in a damp warm environment) for anyone who wanted them, and the super-easy instructions. Remember when you used to go to birthday parties when you were a kid and came home with candy goodie bags of poisonous sugar? This was my healthy delicious answer to that! It was a huge hit! Sprouts are healthy in so many ways, especially Calabrese broccoli sprout seeds along with radish sprout seeds for their anticarcinogenic properties 100x stronger than mature plants. Do your own research and follow me here on Amazon and I'll review my fave sprouts soon. Happy Sprouting!

Great for air drying things!
I ordered these because I'm using them to dry out flower heads for their seeds for the following year and my pet will go at them if they're not covered. I know they have other purposes than this, however I found them to be very well made. They look sturdy and well designed, enough so that I purchased another order of them for gifts for friends who do a lot with Mason Jars. For something that needs to slowly air dry this is a great find, and will help prevent molde buildup. They were a little pricy, but I"m pleased with the quality.

I'm delighted to find this product and always wondered why someone hadn't produced a stainless steel sprouting lid .. They've only just arrived so haven't used them yet but I can see by the quality they'll be good.. Would be good to be able to buy jar lids and bands to the same quality I use a lot for fermenting and they always go rusty.

They look great! I'm so glad I found these ones. I had plastic ones years ago but these should be much better.

Size tp small to fit on any normal sized jars. Tried it and it is useless.
