This is because the first hdmi port of the Blackmagic Design switcher supports the RGB format, and the output format of the wireless video transmission system is the YUV format.

Do i need this for wireless transmission if i purchase the mars m1 bundle?

Yes you need 1 transmission for your camera , m1 monitor can act as transmission or receiver.

Can I have two TX paired to a RX, but use only one TX at a time? Not both at the same time.

This should work fine. These units do not pair in the manner of Bluetooth. You simply need to set all units to the same channel, like wireless microphones, and you're done. And as you said, use only one TX at a time and you should be golden.
