Brer Rabbit Unsulphured Molasses, Blackstrap, 12 Ounce

This is one of the better quality molasses products available. (if you can buy locally from someone trusted, do that) But for ordering , this one is superb! Also, this seller often has prices lower than I can even get at our local grocery and it is delivered to my door. Win/win. Great for getting necessary minerals. We like to drink it in our tea.

Taste and texture is excellent.. I have loved Brier Rabbit molasses since I was young. On pancakes, biscuits, waffles, even to glaze a ham. My wife uses it in her baked goods.. Beyond good. We always have friends and family wanting some of her baking each fall. Ginger Snaps, ginger bread, and even a few spoons full in milk like chocolate.. That's an old fashion way.. Another is to bake big biscuits push a hole in the center pour in a little Brief Rabbit. Seal in a bag and take for lunch if any are left over from breakfast.. One bad point was the shipping. A bottle leaked and saturated the weaker and corner of the shipping box. The other was fine.. Maybe tape the lid ? Lost too much.

Getting ready for winter baking, Blackstrap Molasses is a signature flavor in many of my favorite holiday dishes and my usual brand now comes in plastic, so time for a change. I bought several brands to try, this is my new go-to Molasses. This has a great flavor, and is thicker than many that I tried. It is still a bit thin, but, comparing both texture and flavor, it came in on top of my testing. It comes in glass, which is a requirement for me. Plastic penetrates molasses, so it cannot be stored in plastic, and since molasses has a long shelf life, by the time you get it home it may have already spent MONTHS sitting in a warehouse or store shelf absorbing plastic, so even decanting immediately to glass doesn't prevent that plastic taste. I use molasses in place of white sugar in many baked goods, to flavor lots of beans, and stews, and molasses butter on biscuits! I have low iron, so this is a great way to reduce sugar, and increase iron in my diet. Very happy with this new addition to my pantry

After reading countless reviews--just about every brand--where the molasses arrived spilled over the inside of the plastic and box, I was a little hesitant to place an online order. But I couldn't find Blackstrap molasses at my grocery store. And I didn't feel like driving around town in search of a store that might stock this item. So after doing some research online (Brer Rabbit consistently placing in the top 10), I decided to place an order because the majority of the sub-5-star reviews only criticized the shipping, not the taste. Another more important reason I chose this brand is due to the California’s Proposition 65 (lead and acrylamide) warning that appeared on the label of several other brands, but not this one. As you can see from the included photo, my shipment arrived IN TACT! Yay! It's a rich dark brown color, it's not as thick as I expected, but it tastes pretty good--not sweet like sugar, which I think is the point; I can't recall ever tasting raw molasses before so I have no reference point. But it's good for my needs. The 2-pack was a great deal. So, overall, I'm VERY happy with my purchase.

Great quality. A perfect addition to your pantry to add some depth to your baked goods, especially for fall treats. I also use it for my homemade bbq sauce.

Ordered two jars, both arrived unsealed, one was leaking badly as if the jar was broken, the other also leaking under the lid. I was able to refund one jar, the lid leak was discovered after, no return allowed on second jar. Molasses looked and smelled very good, but cannot use since seal is broken.
