Pass the tip through the inside slit of the buckle. Pull the band tight. ☺Pass the tip through the outside silt of the buckle. The friction buckle will lock the band in place. ☺Pull the band very tight and fasten it back on itself. ☺Twist the rod until bright red bleeding has stopped and the distal pulse is eliminated. ☺Place the rod inside the clip and lock it in place. ☺Check for bleeding condition and distal pulse. It seems they "double-bag" their packaging and use a styrofoam-like material as adhesive between the bags. Made a huge mess all over my kitchen. The inside of the packaging also had an extremely pungent smell that was disgusting. Upon further investigation, I discovered 3 long hairs that were stuck to the plastic that contained one of the tourniquets. Pretty gross in addition to the smell. Lastly, a previous reviewer mentioned their false advertising with the first aid "kit"- They are exactly right. It is not a first aid "kit", but merely a tiny bag of VERY low quality. Don't be fooled. I probably should have spent ten more bucks to get something that was a bit higher quality, but this should work for now. I'm not planning on using these on my actual belt but for training classes where we practice with them on a dummy... not my co-workers who sometimes are dummies. I don't expect these buckles to hold up to much abuse/use. I'm actually tempted to return them now but we'll see. If you’re bleeding now, don’t order. They are shipped from China and take a couple of weeks. (just joking about the bleeding). I plan to keep one in each car and give the others to my two sons. They left a word off the description. It is not a “first aid kit”. It’s an empty “first aid kit bag”. Misleading (deduct one star), but I don’t think I would trust medicines from China anyway. Haven’t used any yet, and hope I never need to.
