I needed a micron gauge for a DIY heatpump install. Usually I go super cheap on tools I'll really only need once but I wanted to be sure that the reading was accurate as a leak is pretty expensive problem with today's refrigerants. This is a nice high quality gauge from an established company with a calibration certificate. I've seen a fair number of these being used in videos from HVAC professionals. I found the gauge to function flawlessly. This was a great value for a gauge that is certified to be accurate. Unit is easy to use, and includes the needed 9v battery. One of the best features is that per the manual, this gauge can withstand the pressure of the refrigerant when releasing the system charge so you don't need to remove the gauge from your core tool prior to releasing the refrigerant. It also includes a small padded pouch for storage which was a nice touch.

The auto-off is a bit annoying, but understandable for a battery powered tool. Definitely use something like a core removal tool to hook this up as it leaves the valve open too long when unscrewing if hooked up directly.

This is supposed to be a good gauge but I have some issues .

This is a great vacuum gauge. It is very accurate and works perfectly. I’ve used it in two air conditioners already and used it on the same air conditioner multiple times. I highly recommend this brand for how easy it is to place on the low side valve. They even give you a t fitting to tee off the hose. Because of the price, I try to treat it well but I can see how durable it is. Everything can be hand tightened and it doesn’t leak.

It worked okay. The instructions mention mounting it directly to the vacuum pump - not a good idea because the pump's vibration causes issues with its internal circuitry and showing strange readings. Moving it to the A/C unit got rid of that problem. It also has kind of an odd way of reading. For example, it's not able to read 0 psig - the pressure when connected to nothing, and won't display anything until you're already at a partial vacuum. Not a big deal since that's what it's for but it does leave you hanging wondering if it's working at all until you can actually apply a vacuum to it. It also has kind of a short auto-off function. Watching it suck down my A/C system I had to turn it back on twice, so "meh" on that feature.

This worked perfectly to get my new AC unit set up and operating. Does not include battery so make sure you have a 9v handy.

The price is right on this vaccuum guage for the buyer, and the quality is high. It does have a plastic case so you still have to try to NOT drop it from very high...... might or might not break obviously. Even so, it is an excellent and simple device that will take merely a few minutes to install the new battery and have it ready to perform for you. I like the compact size, the very high quality of the MADE in USA parts and pieces, and the nice little protective carry case that comes with it. Compact, high quality, handy and easy to use, low priced..... how can you go wrong? It all fits in this small soft case that is about 6" long by 3" wide, by about 1.75" deep, that is so compact and well protected that it should provide long time good service. Do enjoy! UPDATE 29 May 2014: I finally received my new vacuum pump and put this to work. It takes a little bit for it to settle down at first, but after that, this is a fine instrument I could recommend to anyone. I like the compactness of it, and the quality in the brass fittings is excellent! (USA made, so no surprise there,eh?) It is easy to read, just large enough to be great. The ability to select any type of readout you desire, from Torr to Microns, is good too. It did not repsond well to upper vacuum levels of say 10" and less, but once pumped down below that, all worked very well and was stable. Enjoy!

The gauge arrived in what appeared to be good condition properly boxed and looked new I followed the instructions installed the battery and did the reset all as described hooked it up and it read giberish it also did not display all the segments of the numbers I tried many variations of hooking it up thinking I may have done something wrong but still it did not work properly so I contacted Amazon and they said I was still in the 30 day return window but I didn't want my money back I just wanted a working replacement they said I would have to contact CPS for that so I did and each time they wanted an RO form filled out so I did still nothing and once again they said I would have to fill out the RO form and I did getting a new person each time finally I asked if they were going to replace it and the response was fill out an RO once again at this point they got what they wanted for me to give up I had bought a CPS freon scales and a $500.00 vacuum pump from another company all of which was almost a thousand dollars I hope they enjoy it all I have ever owned was CPS ac products but I have bought my last CPS!

The gauge worked extremely well. The gauge arrived in good condition and was never opened damaged or broken. Remember to use nylog on all connections including the testing valve seats this will help prevent leaks

Not a fan of the 9v battery. wish it was double AA or Triple AAA at least. ideally a USB C charger with inbuilt battery would be best s you dont need to purchase batterys all the time, just keep it charged every few nights is easy and free. It seems to work well. shut off pump at 200 microns and it rises then equalises around 400 usually pretty good. for some reason i dont trust it not sure what it is but i just feel like it cant beleive what its reading. idk maybe thats just me feeling. cant put my finger on it yet. dont get me wrong this thing works its just that like any of these micron gauges their so expensive, theres no realiable way to calibrate them or compare with others because they cost an arm and a leg, and truly know if its reading the correct measurement. I just wish there was a way to test them and be able to prove that they are working correctly. i just dont like micron gauges in generall every the really expensive ones seem so edgy like a slight breeze and they suddenly read wrong or stop working. this is the 3rd one ive bought. 1st was the feidpeice cost about $500, then the blue vac mini $500 too, and that was my favourite but my set up was dodgy so changed that to all new hoses and shii and got this cps then it worked well. sill need to test this along side my bluevac but if they have different readings im scared i wont know which one to trust and loose faith in them all.
