I have many of their flashlights (Nitecore) and also many of their batteries, including the 3400 USB charged batteries, the 3400 batteries, and the 2600 batteries, and the 3100 tm8 battery. This light will only run on batteries that have 8 amp discharge rate. If it doesn't say that then it's not going to work, you can use a 2600 but it will go out pretty quickly. I am not sure if anyone is using regular standard cr123 batteries but this would not apply to you only the people that are using 18650. this was a little bit disheartening but yet I can understand why because it is a high drain device, but I had 10 of their batteries and thought maybe one of them would work. This was the only drawback that I could find to this flashlight. The size of the flashlight is actually smaller than most other ones that I have, which is perfect. I did test this next to the eax Hammer which is 2000 lumens and this is respectively 1800 lumens. The spread is good, the centralized ring of Illumination in the middle is also well placed, it does have a good throw, and it does get pretty hot. I have had nitecore flashlights for a long time, I have auditioned about 20 of them so far. This light is very compact, very lightweight and has strong output. I have tested others, but for the money, the durability of their flashlights along with their batteries in my mind so far have stood up past the others. I purchase and test all these products myself they do not endorse my ratings whatsoever. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Huge amount of light, compact, well built *by K***N on Reviewed in the United States on August 11, 2018* I like this flashlight / torch so much I've given numerous out as gifts to my family. Believe it or not, even my girly-girl teenage nieces requested these as gifts. They saw how much light this flashlight cast out in the woods at my family's property, and they were in awe. It gets DARK out there since there's essentially no light pollution, but when this compact flashlight is turned on at its max brightness, you'll have plenty of illumination hundreds of feet away.It's a clean blue-white light. The aluminum housing is durable, it has flats on the sides to keep it from rolling, it's watertight, there's really nothing I don't like about this light. It's also bright enough to essentially stun someone if they approach you in the dark. They won't be able to look directly toward the light, and if they do, everything behind the light will be relatively invisible in the darkness. That's why I have one beside my bed; it will illuminate the entire main area of our home while essentially concealing everything behind it unless there's a lot of reflected light.If I had to pick one thing to improve, it would be the switch placement. I do sometimes accidentally actuate it and change the brightness since it's right were my fingers want to fall. I also have several other models of Nitecore flashlights of similar size, and I don't seem to have this problem on most of those.
