Review: A floor standing speaker for modern times. - I'm someone rooted in classic rock and had grown up with having a "stereo system" in my home no matter where I lived, but having settled into a condo I had downsized to the point where I have a nice TV with sound bar and surround, but I missed having a separate way to enjoy my vinyl as well as stream Apple Music. Then in an audio magazine I found a review for these speakers and I was intrigued because I wouldn't need an amp and a lot of space, so I thought I'd try them... and I was blown away! When paired with the matching subwoofer from Fluance, this system rocks and is exactly what I needed to rock! (see attached photo of my new setup). The sound quality of the built-in amp is clean, and the stereo separation at 9' is crisp, clear and fills our 24' living room. I highly recommend these speakers to anyone looking for true stereo sound and a clean, stylish look that fits any decor (they offer three styles of finish).

**Q: Is the price for a pair or each?**

The price is for both speakers. You will receive one active speaker which contains the built-in amplifier, and a passive speaker which connects to the active speaker using the included speaker wire.

**Q: Can you hook up a addional "powered" subwoofer with this?.  Thanks**
A: Yes you can.  I have a Klipsch R100Sw powered sub attached to My Ai81.  It works fine.

**Q: Do you need a preamp to hook a turntable up to the Ai 81 elite floor standing speakers ?**
A: You will need a phono preamp unless your turntable has a phono/line switch  or has bluetooth(wireless). You would use the line and connect to one of your unused aux connections on the back of the rt81. I have a  good budget turntable that has both. I use the bluetooth connection in order to free up the two RCA connections for a cd player/TV/cassette deck etc

**Q: Will these work with a laptop?**
A: Yes, through the bluetooth option for the Ai81.  I have paired a bluetooth turntable and tablet.  Of course your laptop has to have bluetooth wireless.
