Orivet Geno Pet Plus 5.0 Dog DNA Breed Identification & Health Test

I enjoyed finding out exactly what my dog’s make-up is! The test was easy to manage and results were back in about three weeks. The results are very detailed and go into different things to watch out for health wise based on dog breed make-up. This was a very enjoyable experience!

We bought this product back on may 1st. We sent our collection in right away. After a month of no word we followed up and they said they have a “room full of samples, it’s probably in there” then a couple of days later we got a notice saying it was being processed. 2 weeks after that no word, we reached out and got a notice that our collection failed. WE didn’t follow the instructions. They sent us a second collection kit. We followed the instructions and went through the same process again. The first time we asked for a refund we were told we had to fill out an admin form the the corporate office to approve. The second I just shot an email with all of the details and they issued a refund right away. Now it’s august and we have no results for our dog. O total waste of time and money.

I was uncertain which kit to purchase, and I’m so glad i we went with Orivet! The test is super accurate- the vet approved the results (our pup from a rescue shelter) the staff are super helpful - I’ve reached out twice, customer service is one of the best I’ve experience. I would highly recommend.

It was very informative in knowing what breeds are in my dog. Just do a few swabs of the inner cheek, put it in the envelope (all included) and mail it. Wait a few weeks & check back online.

We are waiting for our results so will follow up on the review once those are complete. The account was easy to activate but found no instructions for how to use the four swabs and how to apply the 6 bar code stickers. We searched the YouTube videos from Orivet and found how to correctly use the swabs but are still unsure what to do with the four additional bar code stickers found in the packet.

This company says 3 weeks from when they receive the kits you get the results. That was the case with one of our dogs but the other we are still waiting on. The website didn't accept my registration initially so I had to do that by email. These kits are quite expensive so I guess I had higher hopes. If you have a lot of extra time to contact them and don't mind waiting longer than the promised time, it seems to be a good test kit. Can't say I recommend though. Update: Also, we finally got our other dog's results back and it was 37.5% unknown.

Don't buy this Orivet product - use any other DNA test other than these. The results provide absolutely no information and took 8+weeks. We purchased these for all of our dogs (8) and so far have only received 1 result back that was completely inaccurate. An AKC / CKC registered Standard Poodle with 6 generations documented genealogy.... Orivet shows one of the Great Grand Parents being an "unknown mixed breed". The Genetic health screen is far from what they promise on the packaging or their site and only provides insight into if they have potential for liver or adrenal gland problems... no bone or joint information. Stay far away from these tests.

We purchased this for our pound puppy. The kit was super easy to execute, and we received the results in five weeks. It was a lot of family fun to read about our pups lineage and where particular traits of hers may have came from. All in all, I would recommend this for anyone!!!

Still Waiting for my Goldendoodles DNA health check, results , it’s so difficult to get a response from this company. Paid £79.99

Das Produkt wurde super schnell geliefert, allerdings scheitert man schon bei dem Versuch, sich als Haustierbesitzer auf der Seite zu registrieren (siehe kurzes Video). Der Test ist wohl ausschließlich für Züchter und Tierärzte gedacht -alles andere führt zu Fehlermeldungen, bzw. Seiten können nicht gefunden werden. Entsprechend habe ich mich als potentieller Züchter registriert, um mein Testkit aktivieren zu können. Beigefügt waren zwei Testeinheiten mit zwei Barcodes, die ich eingegeben habe (siehe Screenshot). Beide Barcodes wurden nicht erkannt und ich erhielt immer wieder Fehlermeldungen, zuletzt den Hinweis, ich solle die Eingabe komplett leer lassen (siehe Screenshot). Eine Weiterführung ist mir zu riskant - bisher hat nichts wie beschrieben funktioniert und ich zweifle daran, ob mein Testkit ohne Registrierung überhaupt zugeordnet werden kann. Auch auf die "Help" Funktion im chat der Homepage erhielt ich keine Antwort. Ich schicke das nun komplett zurück :-(

Good product. Takes a while but results appear to be quite accurate. And helpful.

De test afnemen was even een uitdaging, maar alles werd duidelijk uitgelegd hoe je het moest aanpakken. Het duurde 2 weken voordat mijn samples op het lab waren aangekomen en daarna nog eens 3 weken voordat ik de resultaten kreeg, dus dat duurde wel lang. Maar de resultaten zijn heel leuk om te hebben en ook betrouwbaar!

The 6 swabs was a bit much for my pup as I was also doing a health screen. The team at Orivet give good back up service if you need assistance. Recommend the product generally.
