As someone who recently turned 21, I'm actually thinking of keeping this book for myself. It has a ton of recipes in it that are easy to follow and understand, most accompanied by clear, brightly colored pictures.I like that it not only includes recipes but gives you a history of the different types of alcohol and even had a small section on bartending techniques that covers everything from what the different tools and glasses are and how/when to use them, to garnishing and how to prepare garnish for a drink.The back of the book says it retails for $14.99 and after receiving it I think I would have paid that for it. Covers not only the myriad types of spirits and liquors out there but also their histories, which I found very interesting. Then came what foods go well with each and suggestions as to the top brands. Next the doiifernt drinks made with each and finally the recipes. Included also are sections on barware essentials, size an shape of glasses for each type and mixers. Very informative answering all the whys I had and more. May seem like a lot but reads easily. Highly recommended.
