But while they can be cut into thirds, half, whatever size you wanted, it is not easy. They have lines embossed on them to aid in cutting them but it's still not easy. **Q: Why would people want to buy these? Sound proof walls?** A: No they are too thin for that. Many people use them for raising and keeping crickets/roaches/some worms/grasshopper colonies. These bugs will trample each other to death if they are all on the bottom of the container. By throwing some eggcrate in, it gives them lots of climbing places and less dead guys. Other ppl use them for the bottom of planting pots as a decomposable light filler that takes up space.
