I paint with acrylics and recently began building my portrait skills. For portraits, having a strong sketch to start with is very important. If you lose your lines then after a while things will go a little bit wonky and you may not get the outcome you had hoped for. I was using fluid Mars black and a liner brush. But this is much easier, faster and dries super quickly. I use the white acrylics on chalkboard stickers to label things around the house as well. Out of all the paint pens I have experimented with over the years I would say these are fantastic quality at a great value!

These work great. Last a long time. You have to press the tip in order for the ink to come out and sometimes a lil too much ink will flow out, so have a paper to blot on with. Other than that works perfect with my other acrylic markers that I paint with. I paint rocks with these.

I waited awhile to write the review to see how they work. These are great pens they have a good flow they last a long time. This is a great pen for your money!

3 of the pens were dried up and stuck with a glob of paint before using. The others in the pack were great. I was looking for a fine line paint stick for making witness marks in high impact environments. Other than the unusable pens, great product. Fine lines, durable medium.

The pens are better than the brand I had! The tips are made so that the lines are sharp with no smudge.

The smalleer ones worked better on stained glass then the larger ones

I've used both the black and the white pens. So far, the white pens are good. The acrylic paint comes out smoothly. No skipping or blobs of paint coming out. They been used for maybe 30 minutes total time. The black have been used very lightly, and for not even 30 minutes worth of creativity, but they no longer lay down paint reliable. They skip and blobs of paint come out on both of them. Very disappointed. If you are getting the set for the white pens, go for it. For the black, maybe I just got two that are defective!

I did not use these pens for only 3 months and the tips on the white ones are completely dried up. I tried and tried to clean them , even used alcohol to try to dissolve the dried ink in the tip. Junk and a waste of money
