This Hoisin sauce is exactly the one needed to marinate pork ribs for oven roasting per the recipe in the Jim Lee's Chinese Cookbook, that I bought in the 1980's (and long out of print). 1/2 C. Hoisin sauce, 1/2 C. soy sauce, 1/2 C. cooking sherry, 3 minced garlic cloves & 3 tbs sugar. Cover ribs in sauce and marinate for 3 to 4 hrs. I'm gonna hang the riblets on butcher's hooks from the highest oven rack location, over a tray of 1/2" deep water sitting on the lowest rack and roast them at 375 degrees until the internal temp reaches 145 degrees. These ribs are larger than what I have used before, so a meat thermometer is necessary to make sure they are cooked thru. The pan of water keeps the drips from the oven floor and keeps the ribs from drying out. They are YUMMY!

I ordered this and waiting a bit. It arrived, but the bottle was broken. I advised Amazon and within three days, I received a replacement. MAN, was I glad I stuck with it. It's AWESOME!!!

I hadn’t had hoisin sauce until I bought this. I wanted it to add to my rice and also to use for homemade peanut sauce. The flavor is good (a little sweet but balances out with the rice). You get a lot of product for the money and it’s a little thick but easy to squeeze out of the bottle.

Way cheaper then buying in the store for me. Came in really fast and protected in the box so it did not get damaged. Its also a really big bottle. Tastes great

Good stuff

Nice and thick. Super umami. The best I have found for a great price. I use in lots of Asian recipes. Also a great condiment for lots of things, especially a burger sauce when mixed with barbecue sauce, catsup, gocugang, and vinegar.

I am on the wrong side of 70! I just recently ate a an Asian restaurant the had bottles of this stuff on the tables. I tried it for the first time and was blown away how much it intensified the flavours. I will buy this again!
