Make sure you know what to expect re size and the color/stain isn't the same as the pic on the site. *by C***S on Reviewed in the United States on December 18, 2017* I ordered this journal/notebook for my Dad for Christmas, (ordering and shipping & receiving all went very smoothly, btw). However, the color of the journal as shown on the site is not the same color as the actual notebook at all. Obviously I expected some difference in color, but the one I received is like a brick red, tan/ orangey color and I do not like it at all! The book on the site looks like more of a dark brown. Also, I didn't get out my trusty 'ol tape measure and see exactly what to expect size-wise, and I made an a$$ out of you and me...(well, really just ME!), by assuming it would be somewhat larger. Width is fine, I was just hoping for it to be somewhat taller.Other than my superficial "complaints", the journal book is actually quite nice and appears well made! It has a very easy open & close leather string to wrap around the book about twice, the paper is made from recycled materials & you can kinda tell by the feel and "rough" appearance...which I love btw. There are 5 separate little "sections" of paper tied together inside along the spine, and it seems there's plenty of paper for jotting notes, poems, lyrics, quotes, whatever the heart desires! And in case I hadn't mentioned already- it looks and feels VERY well made/ sturdy, and I doubt these pages will come out easily at all...which is PERFECT for my Dad. I actually think he'll really like it, I hope anyway! All it needs now is a really nice, fine tip/ ball point pen, (oh, and the paper appears thick enough so that a good fountain pen wouldn't bleed through to the other side of the pages), and he'll be all set!Overall: Great buy, especially for the price! I JUST opened the box 10 minutes ago and I was so pleased I have to write a review, right now! I bought this in hopes of getting one of the decent ones that were reviewed about. 7 bucks is worth rolling the dice. (Besides, amazon does returns anyway!) (Note: never be afraid to buy anything on here! You can return it the next day and get your money back right in your acct that day.) Anyway, Well I sure won this one! As you can see from the pictures, it is absolutely stunning! AND for 7 bucks!?! Thats the REAL kicker! The only bad thing i can say (which isnt even that bad) is the the first page is marked up from the leather rubbing against it. (No big deal!!!) Im sorry to the other people that got a bad product.
