Sun Joe Tool system
Just received this item. Tried each attachment and they all work well. This is lighter than I thought which makes it pretty good. I also purchased a Sun Joe corded hedge trimmer that is very top heavy, but between the two should make for some interesting trimming. The battery appears to be pretty good , did not use it that long to see how long it will last. I did go to Sun Joe's web site and registered the products and they had a 5.0 AH battery on sale I purchased two of them normally a $99 a piece battery for only $39 a piece was a Great deal The oil that came with the system is thin and not chainsaw bar oil, appears to be for the hedge trimmer so one will have to buy bar oil to use the chainsaw attachment., which btw works really well and is not very heavy at all . But trimming and pruning season will be a real test for this system and once I use them for awhile I will see just how well it lasts and how well the battery life is. Will update this review after it is over . Hopefully it will not wear me out as much as my other sourced equipment Update 9/27/23 got to use this tool system . First used to cut/prune an old apple tree and Cherry tree that needed some real cutting. Had dead limbs and some large limbs that needed removed. I must say the pole saw with this unit cuts very very well . Cut a few limbs that were over 6 inches in diameter . IT cit them very easily and very smooth . I must admit I was surprised at the power this battery operated pole saw has. I still have more cutting to do,but now I know what it can do, it will make the rest of the job much easier. Next was the hedge trimmer, used on some Hemlock trees and they are very tall, way to tall to cut them with this telescopic hedge trimmer, but reaching up as High as I could I trimmed a little over 1/2 way up the tree's , I am impressed also how light this tool is and how well it cuts . I have no complaints about this tool system, IF i had one grip it would be I wish the pole was able to extend further than it does, but still a pretty good reach as is . The battery I purchased a 5.0 Ah SnowJoe battery worked for over 2 hours before the first light went out, I estimate had I continued using it and allowed it to entirely run down I assume I could have gotten 4 to 5 hours or more on one battery and that is with heavy use ( pole saw and hedge trimming work ) I have more such work to do and I will update again and let everyone know a more precise time on the larger battery . The 2.0 battery it cane with I would assume would last at least a couple hours or more, but these 5.0 batts i purchased are far more than enough to get most all jobs done and have battery left . further updates soon

Not a terrible purchase at $100 sale price. blower is useless biggest surprise was chainsaw!
I got this to do a massive pruning job for a lawn customer. i have nice hand tools and power sheers but i wanted the extension sheers and this kit was only $100. with the price of the job i was doing it was a no brainer, even if i destroyed it in the process. After completing this massive pruning job of 30 arborvitae, several pine trees and 50 foot row of massively overgrwon rhodies im happy to say the SUN JOE system is still alive and well! the blower sucks, absolutely useless unless you just want to move dog hair off harwood floor LOL. the hedge trimmers are really nice, all the work and i still have not sharpened them. a few times they would get jammed and id remove and continue. the chain saw is friggin amazing for a small battery powered saw. i cut down about 15 trees in my back yard just for the hell of it. well they were dropping debris in my pool. i cut down a few 8 to 12 inch trees too! i use my own diy chain bar mix of old oil from the cars mixed with a thickening and tackifier (way cheaper than bar oil) and seeing how all chainsaws leak some oil i hate paying for bar oil when a lot of it gets wasted. and this chainsaw does leak even though its brand new. now the system itself could be better. they should have made it so you can connect the tool directly to the power supply handle. using the tool is not comfortable for regular height work i.e. shrubs and smaller trees. you are wielding a massive pole when your object is only 3 or 4 ft tall LOL i have noticed the pole is wobbling at the base already. i probably put 4 or 5 years of homeowner level work on this tool in 4 weeks so i was expecting some sort of failure. i took it all apart in 5 minutes and wrapped some friction tape around the pole and put it back together and theres no more play. if you can still get this kit for even under $200 its a great addition for your yard tools. i have thoroughly abused this and its still working excellent! THE PIC OF THE CLEARING WAS 50 FT OF ROSE HIP THORNS. MASSIVE THICK THORNS AND WITH THE SUNJOE HEDGE TRIMMER , I LEGIT CUT THE ENTIRE AREA DOWN TO 1-2INCH STEMS IN 30 MINUTES! and the battery lasts a while with the hedge trimmers and chain saw. i did almost 2 hours of hedge trimmer with the 2amp hour battery !chainsaw i got about 30-40 minutes of ridiculous tree cutting.

don't believe all the negative reviews
First off. This is a tool for LIGHT yardwark, not heavy duty landscaping projects. If that is what you're doing then this is the wrong place for you. Second, it is NOT heavy at all. My Weedeater brand curved weedeater (smallest you could get) is three times this tools weight, so it is light. If you think it is then you probably shouldn't be doing any yardwork. The trimmer works. I'd say the only bad part is the auto feed feature. It pays out line each time you stop the motor. So if you stop and start all the time you will use up the spool quickly. The line is thin but it does cut and, yes, the spools are reloadable and. 055, .050, .065 line IS available. The chainsaw is going to leak bar oil, all chainsaw bars are designed to dribble oil onto the bar. So, for me, it's working fine. It will probably cut up to 2.5 to 3 inch branches, but I wouldn't go much further than that. The chain, as with all chainsaws needs proper tensioning or its going to slip off. I haven't used the hedge clipper yet. I have a wisteria arbor that needs a haircut every so often so that will be a good test for it. And that's what it's designed for, hard to reach places, if you have waist high hedges, you'd be better using a regular hedge clipper. I can't say too much about the battery lifetime because I just got it. I can get about a half hour out it before changing batteries. And the batteries need proper storage in the winter. If they go bad and I have to replace them, so be it, with the price of gas and oil these days, it will probably balance out. Now, the tools are ok, but they are NOT pro grade equipment. Don't expect that if you purchase it. So, as with everything, use common sense when making a purchase on anything. Be safe, and enjoy.

Great tools for the price
I used to use gas tools but hated the maintenance. I switched to electric but hated the extension cord. I was worried about switching to battery, but after a month and three uses, I couldn’t be happier. The hedge trimmer has worked great on a wide variety of hedges and shrubs. It comes with light lubricant, which I appreciated not having to buy separately. The extension works well for tall shrubs, but it slips a little and I had to re-set it a few times. I didn’t realize how much I bent over when hedge trimming. The extension means no more stooping, which might be my favorite thing! Also, the adjustable angles made it much easier to cut how I want. And no more snipping my extension cords. When branches were too thick for the trimmer, I swapped out for the chainsaw. It worked very well. You need to buy your bar oil separately, but I already have some, so that didn’t bother me. The weed whacker line is very thin, but gets the job done on grass and light weeds. For some thicker stuff I switched to the hedge trimmer, adjusted the angle, and used it like an electric scythe. That sliced through even thicker stuff than my old gas weed whacker. Again, the extension means that I don’t have to stoop while weed whacking, which is so much less tiring. Also I like the wheel and twisting the head for edging the grass. And the auto feed works well to keep the line length. I haven’t had to replace the line yet, so I can’t comment on that, other than the manual recommends you buy their pre-wound spools to support the auto-feed. Battery life has been good so far. I’ve used for up to 45 minutes straight without losing power. Recharge is fast and easy. I cut for a while then recharge while I’m bagging then cut some more. Don’t know how many years there battery will last, so I’ve been considering getting another at about $50.

Simple observation: 2/3rds garbage
Weed Whacker: Never worked. No way to advance the spool, by design. Garbage 1. Chainsaw: Chain comes off constantly. Small but necessary internal part fell off just now and got lost in the woods. Garbage 2. Hedge Trimmer: Only party that sorta works consistently, though not particularly well. Have to go over several times. Pole: The locking mechanism doesn't actually lock it just squeezes the pole a little tighter. It's still easy for the pole to extend or retract. So the extension function is like a bonus garbage. Better to spend more per item on a competent brand. Signed, cheapskate who still likes stuff that works.

I want to love this so much.
l really didn't want to return this, because the price was right and I really love the idea of multiple heads for one tool. They were easy to swap out, the battery lasted a long time and the hedge trimmer was amazing, but the chain kept coming off the chainsaw attachment and the stringer wasn't strong enough to really work as an edger, so in the end, I only had a couple of tools that I could use and I already have a weedwacker. Maybe I got a bad one, the package showed up with a bad tape job that made me wonder if it had already been returned. In the end, I returned it with a note inside to make sure not to sell it again without fixing the chainsaw. I really kind of loved it, and the return was easy, so I guess you have nothing to lose. Maybe I got a bad one and it will be perfect for you. If there's a yard package that comes out that seems more substantial and not so cheap, I'll probably pay more and get that instead.

4 Years and Still Going Strong
I just looked this up today because I feel like I should get another battery. There’s nothing wrong with the one that came with it, I just knew it had been a few years. 4 actually and this tool is integral to my yard work. It’s awesome and has never given me a bit of trouble. It’s super easy to change the attachments. Great adjustability and fairly light. The battery life is still excellent. The clippers are still sharp and work perfectly. I trim roughly 150’ of bushes every two weeks throughout spring and summer. The chainsaw works well for the size and the leaf blower is good for sidewalks and porches. I honestly love this tool and highly recommend it! When this one eventually goes, I’ll definitely replace it with the same one.

Decent inexpensive cordless tools; recommendation for trimmer string replacement
tl;dr; We've had these tools for a year now. They aren't the greatest yard tools, but they are a good value for the price and work well for small to medium sized jobs. We haven't had any problems with the tools breaking or battery charging, like some of the other reviews. However, most of the reviews about the tools breaking are about the pole saw, which we haven't needed to use yet. (Read further down for a recommendation on replacement trimmer line.) Pros: (mostly) light weight tools; able to edge, trim weeds, and trim hedges all on a single battery charge; very nice adjustability (length, angles, etc.); edges surprisingly well; easily trims hedge branches up to 1/4"+; great reach for tall hedges; very easy to change out tool heads; battery is interchangeable with other Sun Joe 24V tools Cons: included weed trimmer line breaks way too easily; weed trimmer auto-feed is very hit or miss (often gets caught and requires manual feed); hedge trimmer is a little heavy, even with the pole at the shortest length We have a small yard that takes about 30 minutes to mow front and back. We use the weed trimmer weekly to edge the front yard along the driveway and sidewalk and trim the weeds around the edge of the back yard. We've used the hedge trimmer 4 or 5 times to trim a handful of bushes around our property and it has easily cut branches up to 1/4". We have not used the pole saw. I wish that we had paid attention to the reviews stating that there isn't a replacement for the trimmer string. First, the Sun Joe trimmer string breaks very easily and the auto-feed is very hit or miss. Sun Joe includes multiple spools in the original package, but you can't find Sun Joe replacement line anywhere. It's not on Amazon or at any other stores and it's constantly out of stock on the Sun Joe website. However, I measured the Sun Joe spools and found that some of the replacement spools that Amazon sells for Worx weed trimmers do work in this Sun Joe weed trimmer model. We purchased the "YWTESCH Weed Eater String for Worx" spools on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D56VBD9). The outer diameter of the spool is slightly smaller than the Sun Joe spools, but the important parts are the height, diameter of the hole, and the pattern of the teeth on the bottom of the spool. All three of these aspects fit the Sun Joe trimmer. The auto-feed does not work very well, but it didn't work that well with the Sun Joe spool either. The nice thing is that the replacement line breaks much less often than the original Sun Joe string did and because of that, I'm actually manually feeding the line less often than with the original spools. The hedge trimmer has worked well on the bushes around our yard. Many of our bushes are waist height though and it would be really nice if the hedge trimmer could be used without the pole, because it does get a bit heavy trying to wield the trimmer at the end of the pole for the shorter bushes.
