Is there a size guide, based on user's height? Don't know whether to order the 35 or 42 inch. Thank you!

We ordered the 35" for my 5'9" husband, because the 42" wasn't available for several days. While the 35" helped, the 42" would have been better. There is more flexibility with the longer one because you can wrap up the non-stiff portion of the handle if it is too long, but also use it if you want more length.

I'm 6 feet tall, 35 or 42?

I'm about 5'2 and bought the 35" leg lifter which was just right for me. You should probably order the 42". I hope this works for you. It was certainly a wonderful aid after my hip surgery.

Can this be used for getting out of a kayak?

I don't think so although it depends on what type of kayak you have. I have the kind you sit inside of rather than on top. If you have one where you sit on top, it might be useful. If you have one where you are sitting inside with your bottom 10-14 inches below the side, it would not be helpful.
