Can I still bake pizza on the top shelf without buying the baking kit? (In open frame and unclosed)

It’s possible but will probably take a lot more time to cook. The baking kit includes the grill grate that’s designed to handle the heat from below and has the grill slots for the hot air to rise to the top chamber. The baking kit also has the door and vent louver to lock the hot air in the top chamber for high temperature cooking. The flat shelf that’s included with this kit you’re looking at isn’t specifically designed to be heated from below and may warp because of that.

How many feet should you be away from any structures around your house?

The radiant heat from the closed sides is not a problem. Couple feet should be good. Make sure the exhaust is not under the overhang of the house. I would suggest the optional wheels. You can buy them from their website.

The title says charcoal grill, but the description says "Optional" cooking items. Does this one come with the kit for Charcoal?

No and I wouldn't add it, there isn't enough space to do any cooking.

Can you burn the logs on the bottom shelf then cook something on the top shelf?
