As the rubber hardens the clearance will increase & the filter can fall off while the rubber will still be connected. Also the "3 valve" F150 engines don't fair well with trash in the vcts, cam phasers etc Please choose another filter. **Q: will this fit 9900 series filter for silverado?** A: I needed a replacement filter for my 9900 CAI kit as well, for my 2000 Silverado. I never oil the filters I just use them until they're dirty and replace at this price.These don't have too much oil and clamp down easily.
