Perfect! This APPERFiT Hood Latch•Catch with Bracket set was exactly what our 1999 Jeep Wrangler Sport 4.0L needed to complement the refresh of the headlamps, fender flares, side markers, signal lamps, and bumper end caps. Fortunately, the factory fasteners were not rusted, but I applied some penetrating oil before removing them, to be on the safe side. After carefully removing the OEM latches, to ensure the paint wasn’t damaged, I removed them, cleaned the surface, and applied a coat of high quality wax before installing the new parts. The APPERFiT parts fit just like the ORM parts, however, several improvements to the original design are evident: 1. Improved latch structure 2. High quality rubber latch 3. Stainless hardware with Nyloc nuts is included So, if you have a 1997-2006 TJ with tired-looking or broken hood latches, this is the one you need.
