Great results if you don't mind putting the work in
I bought this product on the strength of jacobjacobi's review which suggested a great method for making thick foamed milk, which turns out far better foamed milk than any I've made with a steam wand. However, this isn't a foolproof product - you have to work with it to learn how to produce good results. On my first try I pumped 90 strokes, which didn't produce the volume I expected. Subsequently, I have kept pumping away until the milk has doubled in volume before putting the jug in the microwave. It needs a vigorous pumping action, keeping the filter within the milk. I place my other hand on the top of the jug and push down firmly to stop the jug sliding around on the worktop. Therefore, this product is probably unsuitable for anyone who doesn't have reasonable strength and movement in both arms and hands. Also be prepared to experiment when heating the foamed milk in the microwave to find the right time. My first attempt was too cold and my second boiled over. About 70 seconds at full power is about right for my microwave. Using the Latteo with a Bialetti Moka Express, I find that if I put the coffee on first, I have plenty of time to measure in my milk, froth it and heat it before the espresso is ready. In summary, the Latteo is capable of producing excellent quality foamed milk for anyone who is prepared to put in the work to learn how to get the best from it. In my opinion, this product is a tad overpriced for what it is (it's possible to buy a 1 litre cafetiere for less) but on balance I would still recommend it.

Brilliant
I have purchased god knows how many different coffee machines etc to get the perfect "frothy" coffee. This item is brilliant! Make a coffee as normal, heat your milk a little in the microwave or use cold milk, not really much difference all depends on how hot you like your coffee, I have found it works better with semi skimmed milk though, takes a bit of getting used to but once you know how to pump it and how much, about 20 seconds and pump it just before it hits the bottom of the milk in the jug right up to top level, froths brilliantly! I now love my coffees and it takes only a few minutes to get a perfect frothy coffee, fantastic value and if this one breaks I will most definately be buying another one. Easy to use, no mess just another item to wash up with your cups and not expensive, buy one, you won't regret it!

Lovely product and works well, but didn't come with the cork mat
This is a lovely looking piece of equipment and has a smaller footprint in your kitchen than the electric ones you can buy.I have used it with both normal skimmed milk and soya milk and it creates lots of thick foam. My method for making one small latte is:1. Fill to the line or just below with cold milk and use the plunger for about 30 seconds,2. Rinse the plunger quickly (makes it easier to clean later),3. Microwave the jug without the plunger for 1 minute on full power - keep an eye on it for the last 10 seconds as the milk rises and can overflow,4. Let stand for 30 seconds or so while preparing the coffee,5. Swirl the jug gently, then pour the milk into your mug, holding back the thick foam with a clean spoon - the thinner foam will come out toward the end,6. Pour out the excess foam - and rinse the jug quickly (again, makes it easier to wash up later).I've used this jug more than a dozen times now and it hasn't broken or cracked, but I am careful with it as the glass feels thin. When plunging a little bit of milk does spurt out of the top and the spout, but only a tiny bit so it doesn't bother me.Why not 5 stars? Because I wanted the cute little cork mat, and mine didn't come with one! The cork mat was a big part of the appeal for me and it would be useful to keep the jug steady when plunging. If you are ordering, don't expect the cork mat as a given - I was really disappointed not to receive one with my jug and considered returning the product but I'm glad I stuck with it as it does the job.

love it!
Amazing how this creates frothy thick creamy milk from just the skimmed stuff. I was a bit worried about the glass so didn't use the jug on the gas ring but warmed up some milk in a pan on stove before pouring in and pumping for a couple of mins. This worked really well and I had fantastic cappuccino froth with hardly any effort. Far more economical than a pricey coffee machine and totally eco friendly in comparison. Very impressed. Great value for money. Also wanted to say that you don't have to heat up the milk to get the froth. It works great on cold milk. I had a lovely cappuccino today with cold frothed milk. I use skim milk and this makes a fantastic froth. I've read a couple of reviews here where people can't get the froth and can only assume they have a faulty model. The froth is just really easy to make in less than a minute.

Does exactly what it says on the box!
After getting a nespresso as a gift I was disappointed to find that there was no milk frothing facility on it. So after some investigation I decided to order the Bodum 1446 latteo milk frother. I was sceptical about whether it would actually produce good thick stiff froth but considering it was about 23 euro including delivery to Ireland I decided to take a chance on it!To my amazement with both cold and hot milk(I just filled jug with milk and microwaved then frothed) it produced really thick stiff creamy froth just like in a cafe. It also produced a good amount of froth. The cappucino and hot chocolate we made using the milk frother looked amazing and I topped the cups up with lots of froth that they looked almost like ice creams. I am dying to have people over for dinner to show off my cappucinos and we will definitely be having lovely frothy hot chocolates this Christmas morning. Really great product and very good value for money! A good tip also is to leave the milk stand for a few secinds after frothing to allow some air bubbles to pop out so it gives a stiffer froth :)

It works, but has lots of avoidable flaws.
Someone please knock this off and improve on it?It froths mild without electronics and bells and whistles, and does it fairly well. It also give a very nice froth (better than a barista, imho, once you get the knack). However, it has some really, really stupid design flaws.Firstly, why on earth would you not have rubber seals on the lid? Both the hole that the metal rod goes through, and the rim of the pot are very leaky, and once you start plunging the frother into the milk, it just starts leaking from the sides. It's pretty much impossible for it not too. Literally two simple rubber seals would have solved the problem elegantly. Having a seal around the mesh plunger would also make the frothing easier, as it would force more air into the milk.Secondly, and very annoyingly, even though it said on the packaging that it was dishwasher safe, all the markings on the glass part are gone now, after maybe 5-6 washes in the dishwasher (most of the time, I rinse it instead of putting into the dishwasher, but occasionally I do, out of laziness, or because it needs some extra cleaning.

IT REALLY WORKS!!!
Bodum 1446 Latteo Milk FrotherThe Espresso machine I recently bought makes fantastic coffee but I simply cannot get the milk frother/steamer arm to produce lovely true cappuchino froth- tried every method known ,even invented some of my own-no joy.So when I saw this product and read what everyone else said .... thick foam, fantastically easy, magic etc I was still a bit sceptical. I bought this frother anyway and as soon as it arrived made my espresso and put it to the test. To say I am impressed doesn't do this fantastically magical little gizmo justice. I looked at the amount of milk that is recommended and thought, how can what looks like a simple cafetaire turn this into thick spoonable long lasting foam?. The gizmo was placed on its dinky little cork base and I pumped the plunger 60 times the results were some sort of miracle the almost tripled in volume milk was put in the microwave for just under a minute on full and the finished "froth" ( froth is the totally wrong word as it implies something light and flimsy) was a thick, sweet, almost meringue looking cloud of sheer loveliness that didnt vanish after the 1st sip or sunk under the weight of a few chocolate sprinkles. I can now enjoy cappuchinos that I would normally have had to buy in a high street coffee house.I am aware that the glass is meant to be fragile and can break just by looking at it but I washed it up as gently as I would bath a baby and it now lives in its own litle cupboard away from anything which could cause it harm, should this fanastic little gizmo shatter then so would my heart.

DE 10. Funciona.
