Mattel Password Journal Keepsake Box

My daughter loves it for keeping her treasures in (age 5). Loves recording the secrets with the keys. She originally wanted a secret diary but for around £30 they seemed a rip off. one of the reviews on those suggested this box instead and at £10 was fantastic.

My girls age 4 and 6 love this. I opened them and did a treasure hunt using the keys to record clues. Absolutely magical. They've loved playing with them and can work them by themselves which i worried would be beyond them

Lovely present. My 7 year old loves it.

Bought one of these for a nine year old girl as a Christmas present. It was an absolute favourite! The box is relatively narrow but is large enough to hide lots of items inside away from prying siblings. I was unsure whether she would like the key feature which enables you to record a short memory. There was no need to worry she has hours of fun! The password is very sensitive and I would only recommend it on the 'low' setting with a simple, short password. Even on this setting it only responds to the original voice and provides all the security needed. This was such a hit that I have bought two more for birthday party presents.

It's lovely and my daughter loves it BUT after a day it's not stuck and won't open, every time we press the button or try to test it says "cancel". We've done research on google trying to figure out how to fix it and it seems that we aren't the only ones this has happened too.

A favourite Christmas present for my daughter. She uses it to keep her shopkins in 😄. Doesn’t have the password set as it won’t always recognise her voice and she gets frustrated!

This exceeded my expectations; what a great present at such a low price. My granddaughter loves it, she has used all the keys to keep her memories in but, of course, keeps changing them. I am fascinated by how great it works for the price it was, every time she uses it we try to open it with someone else's voice and, of course, it doesn't work for them. I would definitely recommend this.

I got this for a sixth birthday present and she loves it . Herself and her 8 year old sister have used it in their games and they love trying to lock each other out of it !

My niece collects what she calls "treasures", usually just shells and bird feathers and such, and she's been keeping them in one of my old cigar boxes so I bought her this for her birthday and it's great. It is really well thought out and works reliably and well. The user interface is a little clunky and too complicated for a child but an adult can help them get it set up and then they're good to go. The box can be used with no password or with a pre-recorded password that must be spoken to open the box. This can be a little tricky for younger children. My 5 year old (just barely 5) can't quite grasp the concept of saying the password exactly the same way at about the same volume every time and so she has trouble getting it to reliably respond but the 7 year old was able to get it to work just fine. A word on the "security" of the box, there is a "reset" button (that must be pressed with the tip of a pen or something) on the bottom of the box and when pressed it will disable the password, this is a necessary thing for little kids because they forget the password or can't say it exactly right a second time, but it also removes any real security from the box. It's a toy, don't depend on it to actually keep things safe from siblings. The keys are neat too. You insert them and then turn and the box prompts you to record a memory. The stickers that come with it match the keys. So for example, say you have a movie ticket from the first movie you ever saw. You can put the blue sticker on the movie ticket, insert the blue key and turn it and then record the message "This is the movie ticket from my first movie ever when I was 5! I went with dad and mom and my sister." and then whenever you insert the blue key and turn it from then on it will play back that memory. It's a really cool idea! I love this and am very happy with it for the price.

Un super jouet il convient même pour une fille de 9 ans. Par contre tout en anglais mais c'est éducatif.

THis has to be one of the coolest toys around! Got here on time my daughter loves this! Need to be careful when password set on strong it is super protective need exact pronunciation but can easily be changed

I purchased this for my 6 year old daughter. She loves the concept. However she frequently had to repeat the password multiple times and I once mimicked her voice and it opened for me. Major fail as I was attempting to show her how secure it was and then, ooops it opened. Nevertheless, she loves her box and I would recommend it for little girls that want to hide treasures. It's not perfect but it is good enough. The price is appropriate.
