I bought it for my 10 years old son, but he is a bit young to appreciate it, despite loving graphic novels... because it is not a story really, more an explanation of the Constitution. I have taken two college courses on the United States Constitution and I have read a few publications on this topic over the years. However, this is the first Graphic Adaptation volume of the Constitution I have read. The illustrations really make the story of America's birth come to life. This book should be read by every American. In fact, it should be read by anyone who is interested in American history. It does not matter whether or not you have read or learned in school about the United States Constitution, this book will provide an excellent overview of the most important factors and developments which created our country.This wonderful and unique book covers the preamble, Article 1, Article 11, Article 111, Article 1V, Article V, Article Vl, Article Vll, the Ratification: Federalists vs. Anti-Federalists, The Bill of rights 1-10 and the Amendments 11-27. This 149 page volume is fully illustrated as it provides an interesting and fascinating approach to explaining the constitution. It also attempts to be fair and objective while presenting some of the controversial factors in the development of this document.In conclusion, in my opinion, this graphic edition should be read by anyone who desires to learn and understand the factors which contributed to the creation of the United States of America. I forgot about many of the events that led up to the creation of the Constitution. Obviously the book doesn't go into thorough detail about everything, but it motivated me to learn more about certain aspects. Plus it's an overall good refresher to what it's about.I was also interested to see how "objective" the book was since there have been posts about the book being political. I really don't think it's taking any side on a hot political topic. The book presents how the Supreme Court interpreted the Constitution when ruling on controversial cases, but it doesn't say anything about the Court ruling being correct or not. I guess if you're intentionally looking for reasons to criticize this book for being too liberal/conservative you can find it but you probably have bigger issues in life than just this book.I would recommend this book to anyone who likes graphic novels and has a passion for U.S. history.
