Lamy fountain pen for children
This pen was suggested for my son by his headteacher, to help improve his writing skills. It's a great pen for children, incorporating a finger grip at the top, to help them gripit the correct way, which in turn helps them towards a better writing style. I was warned that switching to a fountain pen can slow the writing speed as the child gets used to the pen, so I bought this at the start of the summer holidays so that he could practice and get up to speed before going back to school in September. This plan has worked very well, as starting a new year is big enough without having to worry about a new pen too. My son has just turned 9 and really enjoys using his Lamy pen. I bought a second pen as a back up for when the inevitable happens! :)

Great pens, improved focus on letter formation
I bought two, one for my 13 year old girl and one for my 10 year old boy. They are both delighted with the open and it writes beautifully. My daughter is paying more attention to her letter formation and get work is looking much better. The only down side is that the call doesn't fit in the back of the pen and I'm worried they could lose it. Overall a great pen, would also suit those with arthritis or difficulty holding thinner barrels.

Not just for kids
I have quite small hands and find this pen really comfortable to use. It writes really smoothly, and is a joy to use. I know it's aimed at kids but I've not found another pen that's suited me so well. I love the LAMY pens and ink cartridges, and this is my favourite pen so far.

Great Starter Pen
I bought this pen for my son that has moved to secondary school. He never progressed to pen at primary. He is left handed, so we opted for the left handed nib. This is a great pen, by a leading brand and is truly worth the money. My sons handwriting is neat and he is taking more care. i also bought the Lamy eraser as well, to help him with any mistakes he needs. Would definitely recommend.

Good, but my pen had problems.
Seems a good pen for beginners, the 'A' nib is very forgiving though puts down quite a broad line. Only one problem with my particular pen, in that it leaks inside the barrel no matter what - cartridge ends up empty, then ink flies everywhere when you open the barrel to replace because it's emptied itself inside the pen. Pen barrel has also ended up stained with ink due to this seeping down past the threads and up into the wood. I'm sure this must be an outlier, as Lamy know what they are doing, but I won't be buying another!

Very lovely pen. 7 year old keen to write with it, as am I.
Really nice starter pen. Beautiful build and tactile qualities, but I wouldn’t expect anything less from Lamy. I like to write with it myself actually, the beginner nib is more comfortable than the medium I have on my Lamy Safari. It’s a finer nib too.

Great for children to start using fountain pens
My daughter (primary school) loves this - she got used to it very fast (no ink stains on her fingers neither). I love her neat writing with it - and tbh, I am very glad I discovered this option. - Actually now she may alternate between this one and the Safari ...

Lamy are world class
Lamy products are marvellous and this pen is no exception. Beautifully constructed. The retractable pencil is a perfect match also. I'd also like to mention that Lamy provided me with amazing service when I damaged my own dialog. One of my favourite companies. Support world class companies like Lamy, who know how to do high quality design, manufacturing and customer service.
